Hi there!! My name is Clayton Lewis and thanks for your interest in the podcast. I’m a procrastinator in the worst way and if I can put something off until later, I certainly will. Without the driving force of a deadline or some other “carrot” to push me, I generally don’t complete a task until the very last possible moment. To quote the movie Office Space; “It’s not that I’m lazy, it’s that I just don’t care. It’s a lack of motivation, Bob”. Actually, I do care but it is certainly a lack of motivation for the most part.

Because of my procrastinating affliction, I’ve toiled over what this podcast should be about. Since I take an active interest in so many topics including audio recording, songwriting, sequencing, and just music in general it was hard to choose a topic. What I have learned is that I love to talk to people and find out how they do what they do with their music. I spend hours reading magazines, looking at studio pictures, reading how this artist made this sound and what this band is doing to stay fresh in the studio, etc. I figured if that stuff interests me.. it must interest others as well.

So I just started talking to other musicians and bands to see what they’re up to. Simply because it interests me. An added bonus is that folks can use this podcast as a vehicle to put a voice behind the music they post and give the listener a chance to learn more about them. So most of my podcast episodes will be dedicated to highlighting a new artist or band. Kamber is a Nashville-based independent artist born and raised in central Florida. Though classically trained in piano and voice, her artistic influence stems from an array of passionately poetic storytellers--Tori Amos, Imogen Heap, Kurt Cobain, Kate Bush, Chris Cornell and more. She holds both classical upbringing and alternative awakening dear, as evidenced in every inch of her craft. Like those who came before, Kamber can't be pinned into one genre and prefers varied creative outlets—producing her original music, working on collaborative projects, teaching piano, and playing out with or without her band, Raviner. Kamber’s solo cinematic compositions are birthed out of a cathartically confessional place as she moves from raw melancholy to visceral to ambient hopeful. A Nashville resident since 2013, Kamber’s made herself heard releasing a pair of EPs and several singles through both band and solo projects. 2018 brought nominations for Kamber’s solo work as well as her band. Unsigned Only Competition named “Summer Concrete” (2016) a finalist, while Raviner was considered a 2018 NIMA Nashville Industry Music Awards "Best Hard Rock + Metal Band" Nominee.

Today, you can find Kamber penning music for both herself and her band, teaching students in the studio, playing gigs with local artists, building her team of fellow creatives and planning upcoming touring opportunities.
