"Vancouver Specials" were houses mass-produced from 1965 to 1985 in and around Vancouver, British Columbia. They were box-like structures with low-pitched roofs and long, narrow balconies. I will not "Buy Followers", SoundCloud is a cesspool.

BokiR — Music & Words from the Edge

BokiR is a songwriter, bass player, and sound engineer shaped by the concrete pulse of New Belgrade, the raw poetry of protest, and the long road between survival and creation.

Raised in the underground punk scene of 1980s Yugoslavia, he formed his first psycho-punk band Gonoreja as a teenager — channeling the chaos of The Cramps, The Gun Club, Dead Kennedys, Siouxsie and the Banshees, but also Pekinška Patka, Šarlo Akrobata, Disciplina Kičme, and EKV. His formative years were spent between squats, backroom shows, homemade cassettes, political tension, and a city caught between collapse and rebellion.

Then came the war.
Then exile.
Then silence.
But the music never left.

After surviving the long detour, BokiR relocated to Paris, where he sharpened his technical skills at SAE Institute, building on years of hands-on experience in under-equipped studios and improvised stages. In his world, resourcefulness beats equipment. You learn to hear before you learn to own. You trust instinct before plug-ins.

He eventually built his own sound system, engineered live shows across venues, and turned fully toward songwriting — completing Berklee’s online songwriting program, and embracing narrative-driven composition in English, French, and Serbian.

BokiR’s strength is in the groove and the word.
His lyrics are precise. His stories are lived. His rhythms come from walking, waiting, surviving. He writes about displacement, resistance, exile, rage, tenderness, fatherhood, and the brutal poetry of city life. There’s nothing generic in his sound — it’s full of dirt, nuance, breath, contradiction.

He doesn’t write songs to entertain.
He writes to remember. To push back. To stay human.

I am a singer/songwriter, DJ, and a torch-bearer for the biggest dreams in the heart and the deepest callings of the soul. My artist name is The Golden Repair. The Golden Repair is the English translation for the Japanese pottery known as Kintsugi. In Kintsugi pottery, broken or cracked pieces of pottery are repaired with gold-dusted lacquer (or silver or platinum). The cracks are seen as important parts of the history of the piece, and the crack repaired with gold adds a unique beauty to the pottery.
