The next expression by Hunt & Gather label founder and House music raconteur Pezzner. In his latest tale Pezzner, ever the eclecticist and vanguard, transcribes grandiose orchestral expression, Broadway vocal jazz, exalted post-disco, and Balearic tones into a format that we can all gather and dance to.

This is 'Sunrising' and it comes accompanied by two reinterpretations: a propellant electric disco romp by label partner Doza, and a sterling but jovial expression by Deep House legend (and our dear friend) Fred Everything. This release is capped off by Pezzner's playful and flowing reperformance of Herb Alpert's dancefloor classic 'Rise'.  The artwork was created by Robbie Busch, DC Comics writer and penciler.

Four excellent reinterpretations of Benjamin Fröhlich's Dance Imperative "Do You Wanna Dance?" by Belfast's rising star Jordan Nocturne (who comes correct with two version), Barcelona's finest Baldo, who turned dancefloors upside down this summer with his Hit "Ride The Night" and Rosa Red, who just released her stunning debut EP on Permanent Vacation. Four variations of one track, that will serve their purpose during different parts of the night.

Exciting new DJ and production duo ZO:NA debut their first EP on Rollover Milano Records. It features two moody and atmospheric fusions of techno, wave and dark chug that are unlike anything you will have heard.

Pierantonio Gualtieri (iltoro) and Guglielmo Prati (dove quiete) formed ZO:NA in Milan and mix different cultures and backgrounds into transgressive sounds focused on the dance floor. Both are creative free spirits who head out on a shared path with a simple goal: to throw out discomfort and turn it into dance music. They make slow techno with meaningful dialogues of voices full of honesty and obscurity. Their sound is equally apocalyptic and ecstatic as proven across these two powerful cuts.

This Italian pair kick off with 'Girare a piedi con il vento' which is described by the pair as "a community song to liberate the ego the frustration and dance to the rhythm of techno." It is a gritty post-apocalyptic club sound. The drums are heavy, with blasts of filthy bass, jumbled DIY percussive sounds and an intimidating male vocal, courtesy of the artist sodapop. The scuzzy pads and dark wave synths add to the intensity of this soot-black backroom chugger.

'Io non Ballo sulla Techno' was recorded in a live performance, at night, in a forest and is "a cathartic moment that represents the power of music and improvisation." It is another mid-tempo chugger with angelic vocals from Beiza offering a counterpoint to sodapop’s tribal male voice and the weighty kicks and bass. It's bleakly theatrical with intoxicating strings drawing you in deep to this shadowy sound. Instrumental versions are also included and become even more moody and claustrophobic and scuzzy club cuts of the sort an ALFOS crowd would love.

With his third album, The Big Swim, due out in December 2022 on Bongo Joe records, Augenwasser ventures once again into the paths of synth wave exploration with a pop feel. Still laced with the folk textures of his early days, he nevertheless develops a dance approach that can at times be akin to melancholic drone. His music takes you to an imaginary, dark club, lulled by a haunting rhythm, surrounded by the fumes of the night, where it is possible to indulge in that quiet voice that has already confessed that it is too late but will never stop repeating its soft, cold poetry. "You'll realize one sad morning / some things change without a warning. In the same way that BG team realize as a child that things are bigger than they seem, so Bongo Joe discover the music of Augenwasser. A simple and disturbing melody, beautiful and sincere, declined to excess, which grows with each track, as a stream turns into a lake, a music that builds a world of broken papers and enchanted ideas.

Ross Harper’s acclaimed recent LP, ‘The Dark Album’ has been supported by a wide range of international press, radio and leading DJs. ‘My Gift’ has been a highlight of several of Richie Hawtin’s sets whilst Charlotte de Witte called it “beautiful”. Sasha, Kölsch, Jennifer Cardini, Maceo Plex, John Digweed, and Skream alongside many others have also been praising the album. 

'The Dark Album' remixes feature handpicked artists Ross Harper personally holds in high regard. 

To put this in a framework, Harper was recently asked in an interview with The DJ Sessions, for his opinion of Ghost Producers and furthermore what we can expect when in the near future tracks are produced by AI? As a DJ, Harper’s answer was simple, it is his job to filter out tracks that do not have feeling, more specifically, Harper is listening for tracks that have heart and soul, in fact Harper’s monthly radio show has the name, “House & Techno w/ Heart & Soul”.

The artists Harper has invited to remix tracks from 'The Dark Album' are producers who have exhibited the anti-thesis of Ghost Producers and AI, they are special individuals who have something that cannot be mimicked, hidden, faked, they have something unique and different that makes them stand out from the chatter.

Harper’s DJ sets are free and boundless, and so this is what fans can expect to hear in the remixes, from rich ambient soundscapes, to driving epic arpeggiated leads, to hard, gritty machine beats, to beautiful textures and softness, all fixed in a diverse cross-range of genres with end results that are almost impossible to tie down and categorise.

In Volume 1 we hear from Cie, Nickon Faith and Roi.

Colonge’s Cie breaks in with a hybrid creation, taking Harper’s bleeps, squeaks and synth choir from 'Something New' and weaving them through intelligent syncopated hypnotic techno grooves, the result is an entrancing tapestry that draws the mind deeper and deeper into the patterns, until suddenly, it all ends.

Manchester’s Nickon Faith fearlessly takes on 'Humanistic Correction' and brings with him an entire intergalactic orchestra of sound. In Faith’s ‘Drifting' remix 'Humanistic Correction' becomes a multi-layered symphonic masterpiece. The first section is led by a wandering melody while contrastingly the second section gives way to a structured arppegio. Harper challenged Faith to develop the second section in a new version, and hence the ‘Epic' remix came to being, with the 'Epic Edit' being a consolidation of the beauty and intensity.

Heralding from Galicia’s coast, Fanzine’s Roi strikes out first with his 'Retro Future' breaks remix of 'The Power of Three', feel the raw power of Roi’s proximity to wild Atlantic ocean in his driving electro baseline that compliments perfectly against the soft, dreamy synths from Harper’s original. Not content Harper nudged Roi again, this time for a 4/4 remix, so, with a hint of something like an early disco classic but adorned with drones and squelchy melodic lines that would be more at home in Jabba The Hutt’s lair then Paradise Garage, the 'Cosmic Disco' remix came to be.

Captain Mustache is a French music producer and DJ from Paris.

Since 2020, he has released music on some of the most respected labels in the electronic scene: Kompakt, Mobilee, Exploited, Permanent Vacation, Helena Hauff's Return To Disorder, and an album on John Digweed's Bedrock Records, with consistent support from top DJ's around the world.

As a true electronic music lover, he has collaborated with some electro icons (Dave Clarke, Arnaud Rebotini, Chicks on Speed, The Advent, Keith Tucker from AUX88...), adding an extra vocal dimension to his music.

In 2023 he reached a career milestone with a full album called "The Super Album" on the legendary label KOMPAKT Records, with the privilege to join the short list of artists having signed an LP on this label, such as Kölsch, Agents Of Time or WhoMadeWho.

He is now widely recognized for several standout tracks:

Inspired by space disco pioneers, Detroit techno and electroclash, his sound can be defined as romantic & burlesque.
