Captain's Early Works - 1996

My final Hardfloor style track on the Tinrib AA sides, once the A Sides were holding steady, and it was ahead full with our Hard NRG 150bpm+ journey.
After this I was promoted by Lee @ Mo's Muzik Distro from D.R. Base > Captain. I've rejected all promotion offers since, as I love it in the front of house, never venturing to the back bar fanny pack E-GOS lycra tavern. This and Funky 303 being the 1st, my favourites - not forgetting the first sails risen for Tinrib on Dave's D5 Records (Dimension 5), with "The Specialist" in 1994.)

The Red Herring:
The Bass line was nicked so had to prove wonders with the 3 x real TB303s with one resampled. 
24 years on and it sounds better than I remembered, and proved my long term memory as correct. 
A crash for a wave and the joke Jon "Bell" Ding with a cheeky clap before in.

"JON CLOCHE" as Karim would say with his 155bpm Special Brew and K Cider snakebite in hand! 
**"Voulez Vous Coucher Avec Moi (Special Marmalade Brew)" has yet to be finished Karim? The Rapier's ready for skirmish when you are, oh mystery sailor of the Fortissimo Frog.

The days of analogue and the Atari ST with Cubase! Cubase drums were the best. Perfect for the grooved work like this. The lad Steve Thomas was onto this as we know! :)

The Tinrib grooved Beats:
The grooves left us for a wee while, until Steve Thomas of the Janet came along with understanding of the ways of sailing in-between beats. The port and starboard way and we delivered. :)

The Drum Grooves Master:
The grooves were taught to the Captain by the legendary drum block, Chris Edwards, who I met at a 2 day Squat Party at Auntie Meme's House (The Beatles) in Sandbanks, Poole. Fuck, was this 1990? Chris was fresh off the QE2 playing brushes lol. We often did the weekly Garage Room at World Dance with D&B upstairs, learnt the ways of the Frog & Nightgown, holding it true as often the only white fellas there, and chewing on Sunday Roasts with Kenny Ken in Acton now and then!. 
The Muzak talked and we built Chris up to the Captain's Live ramming speeds in no time! Where the grooves are not of value and full precision, full percussion, moar cowbell, six hour workout in one hour was needed, with underarm "you cunt" timbales to show keeping up. 30 mins solos were often seen when the generator or power was blown! 
A legend and true escape artist of the impossible Drum Stand Jail, survivalist of the empty canned Red Stripe Sea. A solid drum unit whatever the toaster level was switched to. Loading the gear back into "the tank without a turret" VOLVO, now used as a late morning roundabout at Islington Market, was never a problem. Casual as lol. Ready to go again son?
