These four tracks present a sumptuous array, the layers and renderings of this familiar, yet rarely attended realm; eddying microcosms and dizzying currents. Alas, it’s an illusion, a matrix thrown over the workings of the reverie, which unveils a virtual panorama of digital organics. By Spirit Animal we arrive back in our reality; data informs these murmurings, these chirrups and twitterings; in the future world data is the lingua franca of the imaginary swamp and the fictional jungle. Internal Wave is an ongoing collaboration between The Vision Reels & Barefoot. The pair have been working closely over the past 5 years or so, collaborating and helping each other with production techniques. 

Both coming from different methods and approaches, they have found the best of both worlds here on their first EP. Mixing modular synthesis with sample manipulation and a wide range of outboard instruments and gear. 

Internal Wave Sequence 01 is the first in a series of environment based themes, the first being the ocean. Inspired by their beautiful surroundings in two tiny corners of the South of England, they recorded sounds from the ocean and coastline which formed the foundation for the EP and concept. They then let the inspiration take flow and the result is 4 tracks of subtle, tonal, melodic textures & emotions. Dreams from the eternal & internal deep blue.

Much like the name implies, Internal Wave 3 from the collaboration of The Vision Reels & Barefoot rolls out of the murky mists, with airy pads and tendrils of sound. All slowly rolling over the listener, basking in the blissful notes. With an ocean motif being the focus of this release, titled ‘Internal Wave Sequence 1’, bubbly synths, and textured waves crashing on a beach abound. Providing a wonderfully calming soundscape that transports the listener to the nearest shore.

Internal Wave 3 is out along with the rest of this stellar release on UK based Captured Visions.

Life moves at such a fast pace that it seems to pass us by before we can really enjoy it. However, it doesn’t have to be this way.

VLB52 is an evolution from Javier Marimon's sound, adapting to a new environment, rain, wet socks, whirling scapes and specially to the sensorial entropy around that our brains are constantly trying to freeze to avoid heavy computations. That is rather speeding up life, surprisingly. 

Javi tells us: “In this live recording, on Rytm, Octatrack and FXs exploring different weather's and now usual wild patterns coming from the forest, there is an intense sound walk around our area hoping you get a bit of that hectic calm life we are also trying to decode”. 

Let’s rebel against a frenetic lifestyle and slow down to enjoy life.
