Ecuadorian singer Huaira has created a buzz and a tuned in fanbase across Latin America through just a small number of releases and unforgettable features with the likes of Nicola Cruz's ("Prender Del Alma"), Los Espiritus, Rodrigo Gallardo, Fernando Milagros and more. Now, she is coming together with the talented Berlin based producer Captures for a series of special singles on Wonderwheel. The first, "Sonámbula", a “realismo mágico” song, sonically creates a mystical vibe through it's dark bassline, unearthly synths & sound effects that swirl in the darkness of the track, while Huaira's vocals range from interspersed words to near-chantlike verses and lilting phrases. Brazilian-Australian Rapoeira wizard XANGA is back on Multi Culti with a 3-tracker, backed by a sparkly remix from Ecuador’s Nicola Cruz.

Multi Culti throws down a kitschy pop manifesto with Get Outta My Dreams, a Tarzan-sampling call to the wild that implores us to leave the city and align with nature. Xanga gives overt voice to what we’re all feeling, stuck in urban existence, longing to dance among jungle spirits. 

This is the Way it Starts continues with mad-cap percussion, taking things far off the rails of conventional dance music with live-pulsing rhythms and fast paced arrangement. La Luz rounds off the EP with a hypnotic, shaker-driven groove and trippy, delay-soaked tuned percussion layers. Xanga moving with confident steps towards a distinctly individual sound.

Making of: This track was produced and conceptualized during a self-booked tour in 2019 where I filled my backpack with 2 pairs of clothes and all the electronic and live instruments that would fit inside and set-off on a 3 month journey going town to town through Guatemala and Mexico booking my own gigs along the way through word of mouth and just showing up and being present. I received a tip to head to Mazunte during my tour which unveiled a special and deep connection with the musicians and culture that exist there. I began to play more and more shows with the locals and visited the coast, "punta cometa", or point of the comets. There, with some beautiful friends I met, recorded the sounds of the ocean joining together and exploding off of the cliff-side, the air, and objects like sticks and stones I found from the region. On one special moment I was with my friend Claudia. We were playing in the sand and we stumbled upon a burial site of a giant turtle. There we said a small prayer and played a simple beat with some sticks on the turtle shell. The recording of that turtle shell is the foundation groove that is buried in the track, as the beautiful turtle was buried in the sand, joining again with nature and eventually the ebbing tides. The final touches made the entire track come to life when I joined with some incredible humans and artists that I met while exploring the coast. I set up my makeshift studio in a small concrete bungalow just outside of the city and with the deep, mysterious, and divine voice of Blythe Gruda and her magical lyric books streaming intrinsic consciousness, and the smooth sensual vibes of the flute and alto sax from Aric Gutnick, the track was born..and the journey continues...

Nicola Cruz re-visits his second album 'Siku', released earlier this year to widespread acclaim, with ‘Siku Reworks’. The release provides the listener with another perspective on the ‘Siku’ domain, one envisioned in different corners of the world; Argentina, the UK, and Japan to name a few.  In an effort to unlink the original material, Cruz has selected producers to re-work a designated song on 'Siku' according to their own style. Additionally, Cruz has chosen to re-record two tracks whose live versions have stuck with him throughout a year of constant touring.

   ‘Siku Reworks’ invokes a psychedelic view of the original material, Hermetics (R&S) provides deep atmospherics with his take on 'Obsidiana' and Nicola offers an acid-merengue-infused live version of 'Señor de las Piedras' alongside an infectious and club-ready re-work of live favourite 'Siete'. In some ways it's hard to define Nicola's sound, shaped by years of global touring, and every track here is unique and succeeds in breaking from the usual electronic music format in captivating fashion.

The journey described here, reminds us of our capacity to listen to the inner voice, answer the call [Yaaal], understand the meaning of the movement [A Perceptível Teia], and feel the spectrum of emotions that was provided by the indulge [Cactus tu].
Everything was made with love, analogic and digital synthesizers, the wonderful Dhya has presented us with her voice, and also Guaraci reinterpreted on his own way. 
Using synesthetic beats and a mixture of melodic emotions, I come through my perception to try to connect with the internal perception of you, the listener.

It's nearly dawn when I wake up. I draw the curtain back and take a look. It must have just stopped raining, since everything is still wet and drippy. Clouds to the east are sharply etched against the sky, each one framed by light. The sky looks ominous one minute, inviting the next. It all depends on the angle. The bus plows down the highway at a set speed, the tires humming along, never getting any louder or softer. Same with the engine, its monotonous sound like a mortar smoothly grinding down time and the consciousness of the people on board. The other passengers are all sunk back in their seats, asleep, their curtains drawn tight. The driver and I are the only ones awake. We're being carried, efficiently and numbly, toward our destination. Feeling thirsty, I take a bottle of mineral water from the pocket of my backpack and drink some of the lukewarm water. From the same pocket I pull out a box of soda crackers and munch a few, enjoying that familiar dry taste. According to my watch it's 4:32. I check the date and day of the week, just to be on the safe side. Thirteen hours since I left home. Time hasn't leaped ahead more than it should or done an unexpected about-face. It's still my birthday, still the first day of my brand-new life. I shut my eyes, open them again, again checking the time and date on my watch. Then I switch on the reading light, take out a paperback book, and start reading.
