➳ The tiger ShAnkAri has been raised by her grandmother. Yet grandmas happen to vanish at least in their human form! That’s how, since she passed away in 1996, she keeps interfering very firmly and clearly in Tiger’s life, guiding her, watching her, especially preventing her regularly from bad choices she may make. 

➳It can be a magpie cawing or a blink of the moon in the deepest night right at the moment she is about to take action. The signs are always clear and tiger is always aware of her Soul Warden, feeling blessed to have such a special keeper always at her side.

➳This unique piece is ShAnkAri's tribute to her Soul Warden, brewed with much love and gratitude!

For their new studio album, the Cologne-Berlin band envisions a picturesque piece of land in the mountains and by the sea, surrounded by dense forests and vast steppes, ancient ruins and futuristic eco-cities, perfect for skiing, surfing, and playing golf.

In Valonia, only full board can be booked, including cocktails, coffee, and snacks. To guarantee this all-inclusive service, the four musicians have expanded their personnel competently and consistently: The Greek Berliner Evi Filippou brought her entire vibraphone, marimbaphone, and percussion arsenal to the studio and can be heard on all tracks of the album. The Belarusian Cologne resident Oxana Omelchuk appears here and there with her theremins and EMS synthesizers, which are probably older than all band members combined, and in the last piece "Playground," Istanbul native Elif Dikeç makes a cameo appearance, singing in Turkish about gardens and spirits before disappearing like one herself.

Simulacrum is a deeply reflective project that explores the human experience in the mid-2020s, focusing on our increasingly intertwined relationship with technology and AI. It touches on themes of existence in a high-tech world, the challenges of modern life, and the feeling of being unable to unplug from our digital realities. The album balances both observational and cinematic tones, with a sci-fi, dystopian flavor that doesn’t take a clear stance on whether AI is positive or negative but rather dives into the complexity of our current era.
Musically, Simulacrum blends elements of electronic, ambient, and hip-hop influences, evolving from Frenic’s earlier chilled, lo-fi sound. Each track contributes to a cohesive narrative, with some bringing a Bristol trip-hop throwback vibe and others incorporating modern dystopian sound design. Across the album, there’s a sense of tension between connectivity and isolation, creative expression, and technological dependence.
Overall, Simulacrum is both a personal reflection on Frenic’s evolving sound and Yellatones commentary on what it feels like to be human in this era of technological complexity.
