You were my lifesaver… my be-braver…
My cheerleader when I was just a bleeder…
Lost in the show, but you didn’t let me go…
Didn’t let me fall… you caught it all…

When my voice was gone for good
You didn’t yell—you understood
Tried to show me light in the dark
In a town that tore me apart
You held the silence like a song
Helped me find where I belong
Tuned my soul to something true
Played the chords I never knew
You were the sound when I had none
The echo under every sun
You were the verse I couldn’t write
The harmony that held me tight
You were the song of the year
The one I needed to hear

I was broken, out of tune
A shadow fading far too soon

A melody I couldn’t fake

Gave my story back its name
