This piece is a reminder of the adventures I have experienced with my partner along the years: the cassette we released together back in 2017 when we first met, the postcards we collected during our trips around Spain, Germany, Austria and Hungary, various small objects we encountered in diverse flea markets, museums, and antique stores, and other meaningful items that evoke our precious memories together.

1st single from the soundtrack album: La Controversia de Valladolid.

El Codicilo de Isabel is the score’s most tragic passage. A solitary viola begins with the Gregorian chant Dies Irae, joined gradually by the rest of the ensemble until the double bass shifts the harmony into a fragile major chord: a fleeting moment of light within grief, echoing Queen Isabel’s deathbed scene.

With everything happening in the world, compassion fatigue is real, and I feel like I'm not doing enough. This song is for everyone (and everything) suffering when thoughts, prayers, and vigils aren’t enough. This is for the animals, for Mother Earth, and for anyone under the heel of another.
