Inner Letter (Present, Always)

I write from the brim of pain,
and love lives here, steady and warm.

You always matter to me.
In your eyes and your nearness, I find a listening place.
I carry the living proof of being seen—
a brief light that stays with me.

Your silence cuts like a broken thread.
I reach for words with gentleness and respect.
I hold close the wish for tenderness, an embrace, a small joy.

I love you.
You always matter.
I never stop loving you.

I wish you peace, light, and ease—
softness and happiness along your road.

My suffering speaks of love.
It says I believe in a bond.
It says I live.

I hold a hard contradiction:
I keep the link within me,
and I learn life apart from it.
Something else does the killing—
the weight, the distance, the fracture in time—
and I keep walking.

I write for myself as well:
to honor what I feel as real,
to honor the love I give,
to give my pain a rightful place,
to loosen judgment.

I love you.
I love the part of me that speaks these words.
I walk—wounded and alive—one breath at a time.
