Description: Starlings from my balcony during a warm winter morning. They were replying to sparrows, music from a phone and a cat. Also some bells from the curch at the end.

A soundwalk that starts from the South entrance of Deptford High street to move up North and then turn West toward the flea market in Douglas way and  finally walks back to the starting point.
Price negotiations, playful children, sizzling burgers, a preacher with a megaphone, the alternation of competing boomboxes and radios broadcasting from the shops to attract customers, a bandsaw to cut frozen fish, are some of the sounds that can be heard, interspersed with utterances in languages from all around the world.

I argue that it does, and that it's very convenient for extremely powerful people when they're able to convince us otherwise.

Thirteen minutes of chatty starlings coming and going from the trees to a feeder and back. Wonderful variety of tonal and percussive calls.  Occasional sparrows, jackdaws, crows etc.

Tree - Roots

The Neva River in St. Petersburg would usually be frozen by the time it gets to winter, however this year the river remained unfrozen. This work traces the sound of the Neva River from its frozen form to its fluid. 

The work incorporates a field recording taken for Cities & Memories 'Future Cities' Project, of the flowing Neva River from last winter.

Unfrozen Neva
