My disadvantage in recording rain is that I have a tin roof, but it sounds like your roof is much more substantial.  Lovely sounds, could easily put me to sleep.

The WSB100 looks like a great solution- Soundman also make a head-worn windscreen that I've been thinking of getting- they look like earmuffs & will definitely look strange here in Australia. At the moment I wear a beanie which looks very strange during summer (not to mention hot)- but, it's worth it for the sounds...
