Drifting Away

I'm so excited to be able to share this track with you. I really am. "Celtic Fantasy" is a collaboration between myself and one of the most talented composers and producers I've ever had the pleasure of working with, Joshua Frerichs.

This piece was written, recorded, and produced all on Saint Patrick's Day almost 3 years ago, but there were still some improvements to be made on it. Josh and I finally took the time to sit down and replace samples, remix the track, and alter some parts and are pleased to be finally be able to release it. Merry Christmas, and may the peace and joy of Christ be with you in this beautiful season of magic, mystery, and hope.

Celtic Fantasy (Co-Composer Josh Frerichs)

A Celtic inspired suite that was written for Paul Holland's debut novel Penny the Brave, featuring live performances by both Taryn J. Harbridge on the Violin and Kristin Naigus on the Irish Low Whistle.

While starting out calm. this piece slowly grows into a scenic musical journey through the land of Eisley, reminiscent of travelling montages from movies such as Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. In terms of instrumentalization I wanted to try out a few new things, using instruments such as Arcordeon, Bagpipes and concertina next to the usual whistles and orchestra.

An Eislian's Tale

"Celtic Winter" was written as if for a film. Far from static, it has various movements, all centered around a main theme that runs throughout. It is a fusion of Celtic and Western instrumentation and composition.

From the delicate textures afforded by the versatile and unique Wrenchenspiel to the huge soundscape that is Majestica--the heart and soul of the piece--this track is driven from beginning to end by 8dio sounds. Both epic and intimate, "Celtic Winter" should inspire feelings of awe, mystery, and the magic of the season.

Crusader's Hymn

My name's Carter Elkins, and I'm a musician/composer. I've played the piano for 10 years now, and I also write orchestral compositions (you can find recordings of both here). I have Bachelor's degrees in both Sacred Music and Biblical Studies, obtained at Ezekiel School of Church Music.

My life's calling is to be a music missionary to Germany. My life's passion is making a difference in the lives of people around me, using music. My life's motto is taken from the words of the greatest musician of all time, J.S. Bach: "Soli Deo Gloria" - "To the Glory of God Alone".
