Angelika ist meine Schwester, und es handelt sich um einen Drohnenflug. Dabei entstand ein kurzes Video, das den Ort zeigt, an dem sie lebt und arbeitet, und zu dem ich eine kurze Musik geschrieben habe, für ihre Webseite www.human-unfoldment.de .
Wir alle haben schon erstaunt unsere Fähigkeit zu Fliegen zur Kenntnis genommen - in unseren Träumen, von Zeit zu Zeit. Das tun wir dann mit der größten Selbstverständlichkeit, Leichtigkeit und Gelassenheit. Und wir haben den Wunsch, das unser Leben so wäre.
We all have the ability to fly - in our dreams, from time to time. It happens to be very simple, we do it relaxed and withour any effort. And we wish our lives would be like that.
This piece grew out of a little music I wrote for a video for the website of my sister, which is about yoga and personality building. The video shows a drone flight over the place, where she lives and works - a lake, trees, houses, nice weather.

Description:
This composition is inspired from a FaceBook group "Mathematical Tiling and Tessellation" (Ref. [1]), on a tiling pattern inspired from  Pythagoras' 3,4,5 triangle.  Ref. [1]'s posting date corresponded to the squares of the 3,4,5 triangle, 16-Sep-25, whereas I made a musical interpretation of this. I have seen this countless times, the "3 4 5 Triangle" (triangle who's sides have the integer lengths of 3, 4 and 5 units where the 3 and 4 sides are 90 degrees to each other) since learning algebra in high-school, but today was the day to be inspired to use this as the basis of delay times. There is another clue to this puzzle, Just Intonation, where the ratios between frequencies are made up from integer numerators and denominators and importantly, when these integers are small, the frequency pairs produced typically make for pleasing sounds. Now back to the inspiration. I made a few back of the envelope notes on time delay chains (how a delay+feedback networks connect to each other). Then when I came home, turned on my NOF_PulDelFilt digital synthesiser and started to experiment.

The Three Four Five album of three pieces, all take inspiration from this central idea, using the numbers from the 3,4,5 triangle for delay times and as starting points for tuning frequency ratios. The first piece is the Prelude, lasting 01 minute 14 seconds. The second piece is the Development, lasting 5 minutes 43 seconds; and the final piece is the Rest, lasting 1 minutes 31 seconds.

The PulDeFilt synthesiser also includes a multi-track audio recorder which can accept external audio signals in addition to the sound it makes. Here the external audio came from the Soma Enner (hardware synthesiser) feed into the Soma COSMOS (hardware memory station). The Soma Enner has no discrete tuning, rather frequency dials, these were adjusted live during the performance in response to the PulDeFilt synthesiser themes.

Thank you Ed Pegg for your posting of the three four five triangle tiling pattern, to inspire me to use it in a musical way. Also a big thanks to Vlad Kreimer of Soma Laboratory for bringing the Soma Enner to the music community, a truly organic human machine musical interface.

I belong to no authority, only to sound, to truth, to the silence from which all begins. My work is not mastery, but remembrance — a manifesto in every note, every word, every breath.

I am a composer of the 21st century: a studio artist. The studio is my forge, my battlefield, my sanctuary. Machines hum like choirs, circuits burn like torches, cables twist like roots in the earth. Tradition breaks open in this fire — the score turns to light, the instrument becomes the world itself.

To be a studio artist is to seize sound at its rawest, to sculpt electricity and breath as one, to summon the invisible power that belongs to all. Here music is not bound by walls, not enslaved by profit, not tamed by form. It is free, untouchable, unending — a living flame for the century that is ours.
