You know Dirtybird for dropping basslines and creating smiles on the dance floor since January 2005.

The fun family vibe of the Dirtybird label can be traced back to a free event started in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco. This new kind of house music went against the smooth vocal house that was popular at the time and derived its influences mostly from hip-hop, drum n bass, and American funk. The free outdoor BBQ party was very rough around the edges but eventually became legendary amongst the people of San Francisco. This event was also a very influential factor in the decision by Claude VonStroke to start the record label in 2005.

Today, Dirtybird has offices in San Francisco and Los Angeles and has expanded into events and tour production. As it grows, the brand continues to expand beyond music into merchandise, licensing and artist management. In 2015, Dirtybird launched the inaugural Dirtybird Campout festival, which has been dubbed “Summer Camp For Adults”, and Dirtybird has been recognized from their achievements by being awarded "Underground Label of the Year" at the International Dance Music Awards, “Label of the Decade” by Mixmag, “Best North American Label” by DJ Mag, and Billboard’s "Top 5 Independent Dance Labels".

Hailing from the South West of England, DJ Minali is a dynamic, multi-genre DJ known for sets that traverse Drum & Bass, Tech House, Breaks, and beyond. Drawing inspiration from pioneering acts like Underworld, Roni Size, and Hallucinogen, her sound blends deep musical knowledge with a fearless approach to mixing. Known for her choppy, layered blends and live remixes, DJ Minali rarely sticks to just one track at a time—her sets are fluid, unpredictable, and always dancefloor-ready.

Since her breakthrough in 2023 with last minute set in the Techno room at Tribe of Frog, DJ Minali has been on a sharp rise. In early 2024, she joined Bath-based label and collective PTRNS as a resident DJ, further cementing her place in the South West’s electronic music scene. Her summer 2024 schedule included major support slots for artists such as Keeno, Danny Byrd, 808 State, and The Orb, as well as appearances at Nozstock and Boomtown Festival.

Currently supporting The Orb on their 2025 UK tour, DJ Minali continues to evolve her sound while staying true to her roots. Offstage, she works with Psy-Sisters Music on A&R and release campaigns, supporting emerging talent and expanding her industry reach. She is also working closely with artist management agency 7AM (7artistmanagement) to develop new creative projects for the year ahead.

Whether playing underground raves, festival stages, or intimate club nights, DJ Minali brings raw energy, genre-blending creativity, and a deep love for music to every performance. With her profile rising and constantly expanding her audiences across different genres, she’s one to watch.

Since the inception of his live show and his exciting new style of house music, Alex Preston has become a force to be reckoned with in the world of electronic music. The Sydney-native utilises his skills as a virtuoso musician as he tastefully melds his signature guitar licks with disco tinged bass lines and warm pulsating house beats. 

2020 is proving to be Alex Preston’s breakout year with Mark Knight labelling him as one of his favourite producers and one to watch out for in the coming months. Signing with Mark’s infamous Toolroom Records, Alex was handed the responsibility of mixing and curating the Toolroom Poolside Album 2020. The release features 4 new originals from Alex with vocals from Rion S and includes his collaboration with the legendary, Friend Within. It also includes 2 DJ mixes hand picked by Alex, not only showcasing Alex’s production talents but also his skills as a tastemaker DJ. 

The run up to the end of 2019 saw Alex’s music hit a new gear as Traxsource named him their no.15 highest selling House artist for 2019; Alex sharing the top 20 with names such as David Penn, Low Steppa, Mousse T, Kevin McKay, Purple Disco Machine & Todd Terry. 

This momentum flowed into January 2020 as Friend Within played Alex’s single “Your Ragga” off his Basement Sound label on BBC Radio 1 Future Anthems; along with the Aston Shuffle spinning his track “A Very Healthy Thing” off Low Steppa’s Simma Black imprint on Triple J; all in the same weekend. 

The following week Mark Knight dropped “A Very Healthy Thing” on Toolroom Radio and hailed Alex as “a name to look out for in 2020”. Toolroom records singing Alex’s single “An Example of Disco” (featuring the vocals of Rion S) scheduling it for a worldwide release on 6 March 2020 adding it to their Miami 2020 Compilation. 

Alex also signed with Kevin McKay’s hugely successful, Glasgow Underground. With Kevin himself editing one of Alex’s more blues-influenced tracks, “Get Myself Together” (also featuring the vocals of Rion S and released on 3 April 2020). 

The rest of 2020 is looking solid for Alex with a collaboration with Siege due for release on Toolroom’s T2 Album in July, along with releases on the uber cool UK based Another Rhythm Records. Not to mention, there’s word of an album dropping on his own Basement Sound imprint in September!

DJ Minx was inspired to spin at The Music Institute, where some of Detroit’s leading dance music DJs helped to hone her skills.

For two years she engineered and hosted “Deep Space Radio,” an electronic music show on Detroit’s WGPR radio station. She also voluntarily hosted a weekly radio program at the University of Canada on CJAM 91.5 FM called “Steamy Windows,” and later became a resident of world-renowned Club Motor in Hamtramck. In 2000 she was a featured performer at the first Detroit Electronic Music Festival, and has since become a regular fixture at Movement.

In December 1996 Minx founded Women on Wax, a collective of female DJs from the Metro Detroit area. From then on, she worked with promoters and DJs across the country to solidify the career of several top female DJs and singers.

In 2001, Minx established her own record label called Women On Wax Recordings, which has become a platform for her own productions (including the 2003 classic, “A Walk In The Park”) and outlet for local talent. Minx expanded her musical majesty by creating a sub-imprint of the label called W.O.W. B.A.M. (Women On Wax Bangin’ Ass Music), and continues to collaborate with, produce on, and remix for a number of labels.

Currently on the Liaison Artists roster, Detroit’s “First Lady of Wax” is going strong after nearly three decades of DJing and continues to play in cities across the U.S. and around world. She was recently named one of the “20 Women Who Shaped the History of Dance Music” by Mixmag and one of the “Best house music DJs of all time” by TimeOut New York. In 2018, she was presented with the Spirit of Detroit Award for “exceptional achievement, outstanding leadership and dedication to improving the quality of life.” In 2020, she launched Behind The Grüv, an online store that sells high-quality, reasonably priced casual wear, fit for lounging, outdoor events and working out.

One can only imagine what other paths Minx will explore in the years to come.

Colleen ‘Cosmo’ Murphy is a highly respected and experienced musical selector, DJ, radio host and curator, founder of the album listening event and content hub Classic Album Sundays and an authority on music, sound and the vinyl renaissance.
 
She was mentored by David Mancuso at his seminal Loft parties in New York City. Together they co-produced the compilation series David Mancuso Presents The Loft and worked together on David’s record label The Loft Audiophile Library of Music. In 2000, David told Time Out New York City “She is very devoted and very pure about the music. She’s one of the only people I would trust, both with the music and with the equipment, to fill in for me.” She was asked by David to help manage his legacy and continues to be one of the musical hosts at The Loft in NYC. She is also the co-founder of the Lucky Cloud Loft parties in London and DJs internationally on the world's best sound systems and dance floors.

Colleen hosts Cosmodelica, a monthly radio show on Worldwide FM selected by Time Out as one of the 10 best shows in London. She is now bringing Cosmodelica to the dancefloor to high-end audio venues like London’s Giant Steps and New York City’s Public Records. In March she is hosting a Cosmodelica residency at the Prince of Wales with special guests.

In 2019 Colleen was nominated into the DJ Mag North America Hall of Fame and launched Love Dancin’ Sound System at Gilles Peterson’s We Out Here Festival, sharing some of her musical and sonic passions to dancers outside of her existing communities to rave reviews. She will once again host the Love Dancin’ tent at We Out Here in 2020.

In the last few years Colleen has brought her uplifting musical energy to other festivals including Houghton where she has hosted a marathon set every year since its inception and is returning in 2020. She has played alongside Gilles Peterson for his closing party at his Worldwide Festival, a headline closing set at Dekmantel Selectors 2019 and sets at Kala Festival, Lost Village, One Day at the Disco, Flow Festival and Umbria Jazz Festival.

She hosted one of the most popular disco sets for Boiler Room and has recently been featured as the subject of a podcast for Resident Advisor. DJ Mag UK featured a lengthy long-read article about her in August 2019.

 Her Classic Album Sundays platform tells the stories behind the albums that have shaped our culture and in some cases, our lives. Colleen founded Classic Album Sundays as a stance against the increasing devaluation of music and sound. What began as a passion project is now the world’s most popular album listening event with satellites in four continents and the website and social media channels host content on classic albums and artists such as interviews, videos, playlists and more. BBC Breakfast Television remarked, “Classic Album Sundays treat our best-loved records like great symphonies.” She has hosted events with amazing talent such as Jarvis Cocker, Guy Garvey, Laura Mvula, Max Richter, John Grant, Pink Floyd’s Nick Mason and many more.
 
Colleen has been a radio host, DJ and programme director since the age of fourteen and today hosts Cosmodelica and Classic Album Sundays Worldwide on Worldwide FM and ‘This Women’s Work’ series for Public Radio International. She is the writer and host of BBC 6 Music’s album series ‘Sounds of a City’ and BBC Radio 4’s doc series ‘Turntable Tales’. Unfold Japan, a radio series she hosted for Worldwide FM and Asahi, has recently been nominated for an ARIA Award (Audio and Radio Industry Awards).
