The Audiojack duo team up with cohort Kevin Knapp to release their heavy club weapon ‘Vibrate’ on Hot Creations. Berlin based Re.You and former Minus mainstay and Fun Records founder Barem take the reins for remix duty.

Making his first appearance on the label with this remix, Re.You’s other releases can be found on Cocoon, Mobilee and Souvenir alongside second remixer Barem, a talented producer from Argentina. Texas-bred, San Francisco-schooled and Berlin based producer Kevin Knapp is no stranger to the Hot Creations imprint, having released his successful two track ‘The Heft EP’ earlier this year. Originally from Leeds, and now based in Ibiza, Audiojack are set to celebrate a decade of music-making with exciting new releases forthcoming on the likes of Crosstown Rebels, 2020 Vision, Tsuba and their own label Gruuv.

“Everybody knows the vocal sample from the St.Germain record ‘Rose Rouge’, but a lot of people 
don’t know the original track is by Marlene Shaw, from a live performance she did back in the days. 
It’s been sampled by a lot of other people like Bob Sinclar, Grandmaster Flash and the famous 90s hit 
from Blue Boy. We have a lot of memories with this vocal because we were growing up in the 90s. 
That’s why we decided to do our take on this one. The first time we played it on a big festival we 
were shocked how well it works… That’s why we decided to release it officially, along with a second 
version that’s more stripped-down and based only on the conga and djembe rhythms.” 
Rattling rhythms, hypnotic percussion, an acid line straight from the gutter of the ghetto and one of 
the greatest voices in soul history; this is nothing short of essential.

Philipp Rumsch, born in 1994, is a composer, pianist, and sound designer from Leipzig, Germany. He was a student at the secondary school „Clara Wieck“, with a special focus on music, and the „Robert Schumann Conservatory“ between 2011 and 2013 and was trained in piano both in classical and popular music as well as in composition. A year later he was  accepted in the junior development program at the Academy of Music and Theatre „Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy“ in Leipzig. Since October 2013, Philipp has been studying jazz piano in Leipzig and spent two semesters studying Music Performance at the Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen from 2016 to 2017. During his studies he specialized on the fields of composition and sound design/music production.

In his conceptual work he transfers the sound aesthetic and compositional principles of Minimal, Pop and Electronic Music into an acoustic and orchestral format. The debut album of his twelve-person ensemble, „reflections“, will be released in February 2018 on Denovali Records.

Philipp Rumsch Ensemble - Reflections - Part I

murmur has become a gem in the stone path of electronic music labels, a consistent voice of quality through their series of vinyl and global events. ‘No Fit State’ is a vinyl sampler for the label, bringing together some gifted artists and insightful music to celebrate the label’s journey.

Claire Ripley opens the package with a Solomun remix of ‘Slow Loris’, released earlier this summer on ‘Timorous’ EP. Best known for releases on Steve Bug's Dessous Recordings, Claire is an undeniable talent with flair for getting the feet moving. Solomun pulls the trigger with his remix in a capricious whirlwind track setting the skies alight with energy.

Label head Geddes pairs up for another collaboration with the skilled young Australian, Mic Newman, after big releases on the Tsuba label as well as murmur. ‘Rework’ is available on digital only release, a rattling snake of a record alive with chords and softly spoken calls. A remix from Chopstick & Tilley will be etched into the vinyl version, an engaging record that continually builds an atmosphere full of mystique.

The diamond of the package comes from murmur talent, Tom Demac, whose productions continue to shine with charisma. ‘Slip Slop Slap’ makes an indelible mark on the listener with its retro early 90s vocal and climbing bassline. This is a heart-stopping record that will keep you dancing all night long.

‘No Fit State’ has been a successful series of events for murmur, showcasing the label’s talent and those of their peers. The ‘No Fit State’ vinyl sampler celebrates more fine underground music from murmur’s current and future artists. Fronted by murmur label head Geddes, ‘No Fit State’ is a marker for an exciting moment in dance music’s history. As interest and output continues to grow, this series aims to bring quality music to the forefront of the attention span again.
