Bridging the fierce with the melodic, Contra Scandal draws on timeless styling and high-definition sound design in the 'Panther' EP. Influenced by the roots of early dub and by the pioneers of modern bass music, this lavish 7-part collection comes in heavy on the low end with massive synths and full-bodied basslines overlaid with lush instrumental work, high-energy vocal samples, and uplifting hip-hop lyricism. Building on a lifetime of experience with violin and heavy metal guitar, Contra Scandal has spent more than a decade refining his electronic production and developing his own interpretation of dub music colored by the sounds of the world, making Panther a brilliant showcase of the myriad influences at play in the outlands of deep and leftfield dubstep.
