Houses in Motion presents their fourth offering from their solo EP series, this time from Adelaide’s own Subjoi. Titled Flashing Lights (HIM004), this curation is a selection of woozy melodic House coated in a Lo-Fi patina. Vocal cuts and driving percussion permeate three original tunes exploring the scope of moods, from deep slow-burners to exploding dance floor starters. The title track edit, ‘Flashing Lights’, punctuates it all with oozing soulful vocal samples and a riff catchy in its simplicity. Here, Subjoi brings together four pieces of ol’ faithful type House joints for club rooms and easy listening alike.

Opening set for "A Night in the Desert with Bottom Forty," Friday night, BAAAHS @ Comfort&Joy, Burning Man 2018. Opening for Stormy Roxx, Nark, Tim Sweeney, Kodemul, Mr. TC and Jennifer Cardini.  I kept Ultra's fire dancing announcements because I fucking LOVE Ultra. 

The set starts with a special tribute to Larry Harvey (RIP) at the beginning,  from his documentary "Burning Man" (1991), talking about the origin of the event in 1985, from which I learned that the event literally started on my birthday (I won't say which one).

Thanks to Kevin/Nark for bringing me back on and finally finding the recording after 8 months! To BAAAHS for having us, to Comfort&Joy for hosting the fire performance & opening. To Frank Agrario, Moodymanc, Wesley Holmes, Kadeejah Streets, Jenö (always Jenö), Nark, Chase Cuntersson, and Karl Kamakahi for help with track curation and general nurture. Versatile A/V artist and producer based between Riga and Berlin, N1L intersects eclectic "club" music experiments with post-industrial psychedelia and intense alien soundscapes. ПОТОП (“potop”, or deluge in Russian) presents seven pieces encapsulating dark apocalyptic themes, each setting the scene for a disorientating sonic landscape that references the genesis flood narrative found in the world’s ancient mythologies. Centered on Earth's return to a pre-anthropocene state of watery chaos, this allegory illustrates both punishment for man’s mortal sins as well as new beginnings born from the washing away of everything that has reached its final, obsolete stage — the message of which is increasingly relevant today.
