I wrote and produced this in my bedroom during lockdown number one, when I was sick of looking out the window and wanted a cat in my London flat, as mentioned in the chorus! I was listening to a lot of 90s club bangers at the time hence the cheesy riffs. Every member of my family gets a mention in this one including my nan!

Finished off that Kelly Lee Owens/Sylvan Esso vibes sweetheart. Tiktok seemed to like her so I thought better shape her up. A nice interlude between my more intense stuff. You deserve something sweet & soothing. Hope you like her. She'll be on the streamers soon. I dunno might f around & pray spotify likes her enough for the new Grimes playlist eh.

Ceitidh Mac - Birds

A welshborn tynesider, Ceitidh Mac is a Newcastle based alt.folk cellist/singer with a progressive twist to her music. Growing up in the wilds of Pembrokeshire before heading North, she’s been carving a name for herself across the North East and beyond. Ceitidh is pronounced Katie, spelt the Gaelic way. Think ceilidh with a T. 

While the folk influence is prominent in her songs, the smoky style and lo-fi studio sound combines with a contemporary electronic edge, embellished by unusual instrumentation. Her live show is an innovative take on traditional and alternative folk songs, sitting alongside her own original material which explores topics ranging from illuminating everyday experiences to subjects of deeper self reflection.
