Justin Schultz is a 20-year old producer and musician from the East Bay of California. He has been producing under the artist name Spirit Animal for three years now, progressing from making chillwave to making more experimental electronic music over that time period. As a producer and a musician, Justin has always strived to make his music sound very diverse and different from the rest. His music stretches from glo-fi to deep house over the course of the EP. The remixes by SpAceLex („Stay High“), Tronik Youth Kontakt High („Stay High“), Disko Selectors („Nightmusic“) and Lazy Kiss („Nightmusic“) broaden the spectre from golden to plastic beauty.

PREMIERE : Nicola Cruz - Tzantza (Simple Symmetry Remix) [Multi Culti]

A mediados del 2009 el FRENTE CUMBIERO invitó a Bogotá al legendario productor de dub Mad Professor, como parte del proyecto Incubator del British Council, con el objetivo de realizar un encuentro sonoro entre la cumbia y el dub. Durante 3 días y bajo la orientación de Mad Professor y su hijo Joe Ariwa, se grabaron en los estudios de la Facultad de Artes de la Universidad Javeriana varios temas para ser tratados bajo la estética del dub. Además de grabar composiciones originales del FRENTE, parte importante del proyecto buscaba reunir a músicos claves de la escena bogotana a improvisar y crear juntos en estudio.

De esas improvisaciones salieron 3 composiciones colectivas, que se suman a 4 originales del FRENTE para un total de 7 temas que fueron remezclados con técnicas propias del dub por Mad Professor en su estudio ARIWA en Londres. El resultado de este disco, además de convertirse en uno de los primeros encuentros tangibles entre la cumbia y el dub, aporta un nuevo sonido colombiano al poderoso movimiento de cumbia continental.

After listening to the deep and melancholic melodies of Oceanvs Orientalis - real name Safak Ozkutle - it’s clear he’s a man of many influences. Hailing from Istanbul, Turkey, Safak was inspired at an early age after being exposed to a variety of oriental selections by his mother, including Turkish, Kurdish, Arabic and Armenian music. Now he expands upon those motifs with steady, hypnotic rhythms that have taken him around the world, performing at Burning Man, Output, Fusion Festival and Kindish Showcase among others. The overall aesthetic of his material plays off his motto, “tunes are not in a hurry,” a message that urges listeners to slow down and take in the mesmerizing soundscapes he delivers.

From their humble start, file-sharing musical ideas and producing their first album in separate countries during the dawn of the internet, Novalima is now a live musical force revered worldwide for breaking boundaries and uniting seemingly irreconcilable genres, communities, and generations. They have created an inspiring movement and revolutionized the music scene in their native Peru by bridging a longstanding divide between the mainstream and the minority Afro-Peruvian community, who have struggled against discrimination and cultural dissolution for generations.

Over the last two years, Novalima created their newest offering, Ch’usay to be released September 14th on Wonderwheel Recording. The album's name (voyage in Quechua, the language of the Incas) signals Novalima's latest musical exploration, ancient sounds and instruments from the Andes and the Amazons. This time around, Novalima goes one step further to enrich their sound by collaborating with new generations of local artists from the peruvian music scene. The album also has offerings from global artists such as Esteban Copete (Colombian Marimba master) and Kumar (Cuban rapper based in Barcelona).

The debut single, named after the album, (to be released on July 13th) is the perfect example of the the new sonic voyage in which Novalima has embarked. Ch’usay, a futuristic huayno dub, includes astonishing vocal collaborations by andean soprano Sylvia Falcon and pioneer Quechua rapper Liberato Kani.

The 15th Anniversary celebrations will also include a limited edition release of Novalima's first three albums Afro, Coba Coba and Karimba, on color vinyl for the first time, followed by an international tour through Europe and North America.

Novalima has garnered worldwide critical acclaim from mainstream (NPR, UK Guardian, Wall Street Journal, La Presse, Metro, Billboard) and underground media (Giant Step, Remezcla, Nat Geo) alike, delivered legendary performances around the world at festivals such as Roskilde, WOMAD, Pirineos Sur, NYC Central Park, Montreal Jazz Festival and Chicago’s Millennium Park, earned a Latin Grammy nomination for Best Alternative Album, and were featured in cult filmmaker Robert Rodriguez’s hit Mexploitation movie Machete.

A fall, without movement, that suggests the patterns of rhythm like smoke unfolding in still air. Noise and atmospheric ghosts. Cold air, backwards. refractions of vertical light over thawing
glaciers. Aquamarine flowers that will never know their fruits. faceless fog. Jagged consciousness, frozen in the immutability of each day. A confused palm tree; 

what doesn’t blossom cannot wilt.

zoroxxe was constructed from signal flow modulations through interconnected machines feeding back reverbed signals in and out of tape. lots of analog delays, unpredictable processes on the edge of chaos. it is made of broken, experimental rhyhms and textures crafted from pure white noise, magnetic tape, random sample chaining and fm synthesis.
the intention was to fabricate A deep, disorienting, And enveloping sound. melancholy and transcendent, yet calm and comforting. An avoidance of narrative, in a search to create “time situations;” An event not a product. each track an inhabitable place, palpitating. the feeling of a process unfolding before your eyes. the materialization of an absurd premise. paradox. each track a place willing to receive the story of those who step into it.

taking distAnce from the anxieties of narrative.

 we walk through life chained to the expectations of narrative.
our lives, extend like pieces of string in the direction of the past as we
trace tenuous lines into the future. unconscious, asleep to the atemoporality of life, we tangle our lines through and around the columns of these false architectures we’ve built to keep the entropy away. we abandon the
peace of the eye of the storm, in search of unknown ideals, And we end up lost in a whirlpool that drags us along leaving us dry and defeated, on the other side of the river.
it’s so easy to forget the world of sensations; that all this is an event
and nothing more. it so easy to get lost in the beauty of our imagination; to follow the currents of nostalgia, until you end up grasping for familiar traumas on a deserted beach; A mess of stories tangled with the debris of all your false constructions.
we abandon sensation and give ourselves to dreams. to A self-narrated fantasy;
I climb my own scAffolding. i see myself on that deserted beach. i see myself leaving the silken grasses of the highlands, to chase the quetzales of my mind.
i see how i’ve drawn A million paths with my lines, while never ceasing to be a point.
i lend myself a hand while i walk known hallwAys towards the fables of my life, while another future me extends  me another hand, in a spiral of future and past selves relaying meaning to each other, to keep the myth alive.

zoroxxe hopes to trace a space free of story; like the highlands which prevent us from making civilization. zoroxxe disorients our reality, into atemporal situation. it is about releasing the need to be a protagonist in the first person, and Just being in time.
A place to exist; to unfold the tangled mess. to get out of the currents towards the eye of the storm, where peace abounds, and to observe everything from there.............................

At the same time zoroxxe is the whirlpool itself. 
The architecture of phantasmagoria; 
An elaborate escape plan,
