In the DJ booth her performances have become renowned for delivering meaningful journeys with a fearless authenticity, a thoughtful approach to mixing and a quality selection of deep, melodic house sounds. This set was first performed on January 1st 2024 in San Francisco at the Breakfast of Champions block party on the Space Cowboys main stage.

A RE:CONSTRUCTED set is a *long* way removed from a standard DJ set. It's a live/hybrid set.

Simon takes hundreds of tracks from his huge library, painstakingly deconstructs them (using Ai if needed to separate elements from the original tracks), and then pieces everything back together to create a hugely emotive and immersive musical story.

He uses Ableton Live and multiple controllers to trigger up to 16 individual channels of audio at any one time during the performance, and also performs live keyboard overdubs. The end result is a hugely addictive, compulsive and compelling blend of music that's often new, often familiar but always utterly unique.

Good Vibrations Mixshow with Sean McCabe - February 2024

A Just Her set blends electronica, house, and deep techno, imbued with an emotional touch designed to capture both the feet and heart of her audience. This skill was honed through a journey from buying vinyl with paper route earnings to becoming a distinguished DJ, producer, songwriter, and label owner (Constant Circles). It's an aspring story, one that's led Just Her to a notable discography on labels including Anjunadeep, Crosstown Rebels, Global Underground and, lest we forget, Balance Music. 

Yet, the Just Her goal transcends mere success: she aspires to infuse the industry with kindness and compassion. We daresay she's succeeeding; that energy is evident in this excellent session. 

Across 90 minutes you’ll find a heady but joyful mix of contemporary house (Logic1000, Byron the Aquarius), UK garage-breaks (Beatune, Lili Chan) and progressive-tinged deep techno (Nakadia, Sasha), all stitched together with exquisite vocal cuts from, of course, Just Her.

In celebration of the global event that is Earth Day, all three Anjuna labels have each curated a planet-inspired mix, which will go live on Apple Music, YouTube and Soundcloud on Earth Day.
As well as inviting label fans to take a moment of pause and enjoy some music, these products are extra-special as artists and Anjuna will be donating royalties from these mixes to the Ocean Conservation Trust, in perpetuity. 

Anjunadeep’s Earth Day mix is a two-hour journey through uplifting organic and melodic house. Featuring music from the likes of Eli & Fur, Marsh, Luttrell and Leaving Laurel, all inspired by, and frequently sampling sounds from the natural world.

UK-based artist and DJ Four Candles, whose real name is Kris Brown, is recognized for his innovative approach to dance music that avoids fleeting trends. After working with industry legend Nick Muir, his artistic break came on Bedrock Records. Follow up productions found their way onto some of the most respected imprints, from Selador to Afterglow and Tenampa.

His recent Balance release, ‘On the Fence' (featured below in Q+A), is one of the standout moments on the recent Balance presents Dave Seaman and Quivver compilation. It’s a unique production rooted in the prog of yesteryear but with a contemporary twist: it’s a sound borne from staying artistically true to oneself.

On this excellent mix, Four Candles builds the energy with artisanal ease. Alongside tracks from Donato Dozzy, Spence Brown and Kamilo Sanclemente, you’ll also find exceptional takes by Four Candles on tracks from Leftfield and Sasha.

Kudhva Saturday 6th September 2024

Kabi is part of a new wave of progressive house producers emerging on the global scene. Hailing from Argentina (where else?), he belongs to a generation raised in homes influenced by the musical revolution of the nineties and early 00s. For Kabi, this translates to a rich musical upbringing filled with Jamiroquai, Illya Kuriaki & The Valderramas (an Argentinean hip and funk duo), and even St. Germain.

Today, he’s building a reputation through carefully crafted DJ mixes and an impressive array of productions. Bedrock, All Day I Dream, and The Soundgarden all feature Kabi’s work, and now he adds Balance Music to that list. His recent Venom EP comprises a trio of well-honed tracks that sound as if created by a two-decade veteran. The title piece, “Venom,” is dance floor titanium—a progressive bomb of the nuclear kind that should come with a warning. “Misti,” with its lovely introspective intro, harks back to the glory days of progressive house, while “Switch” draws you in with melodic grit and a massive breakdown that will captivate even the most stubborn dance floors.

In this Balance Selections mix, Kabi showcases his complete talent with a complete 60-minute set that explores different shades of progressive house. Featuring artists like Traumer, Scippo, Avision, and, of course, Kabi himself, this is a robust journey of dance floor bliss that begins deep before building to a heavy-duty big room finale.
