Rhythm Section International proudly presents it’s 8th offering from local boys Chaos in the CBD. Born in New Zealand, but based in Peckham for the last few years (literally just around the corner from Henry Wu and Bradley Zero), these brothers have made a real mark on the scene here in London town and with their latest set of productions are set to take this message further afield.
Having already released internationally on labels such as ClekClekBoom (Paris), Hot Haus (London) and Amadeus (Montreal), the duo’s approach to production has matured immeasurably in the last year, as is evident in the restrained potency and poetic subtlety on the 4 tracks across this accomplished EP, Midnight in Peckham.
Taking it’s title from the locale the boys have come to know as home, the record channels a delicate late night energy - equally indebted to the hypnotic incantations of Ron Trent as it is to the hazy suburban atmospheres of Burial. These 4 classic cuts pay homage to deep house in it’s truest sense - at once sublime, melancholy and meditative . Chaos in the CBD have clearly taken their cue from the mid-west masters of the genre but have not been afraid to let their own influences and environ creep in, and in doing so have created something that is unmistakablely London and infact, timeless.

What an amazing feeling it is to be back. After being away in Europe from radio for 4 weeks (which seemed like an eternity of no radio), I returned with an amazing amount of music, inspiration, and energy. I also announced that Soulection Radio will be transitioning from Kbeach over to @RinseFM (London, UK) on 106.8 FM / http://rinse.fm! 

That means our broadcast will move from Kbeach to Rinse on Saturdays from 10am-1pm (Pacific) / 6pm-9pm (GMT) / 1pm-4pm (Eastern).

This is major news. It has always been a dream of mine to be on UK Radio and I couldn't be happier to finally be on one of the most forward thinking networks in the world, especially in London. I want to give a special thanks to Danny Lemos, John Trapper, Evan, Trey, Eduardo, & many more at Kbeach for giving me a chance to use my voice and develop. I wouldn't be here right now with out the opportunity to express myself.

Special thanks to Shakira and Finn over at Rinse FM for discovering Soulection and giving us this opportunity. We can't wait to start next Saturday. The Huddersfield-born producer has dropped in a flexing little low slung weapon called 'Madness'. It's an altogether subtle effort that's significantly less wompy than the other tracks on the compilation, and would be a good one to drop when your crowd needs a rest from jacking furiously atop your wobbly basslines.

It's almost impossible to include all activities and productions in one info-sheet as Herb has been releasing quality work for two decades. His career and dedication to music shows from running his own imprint to working full time as a mastering engineer, and we couldn't be more appreciative. Herb LF delivers four solid tracks for his Joy Rider EP. The A-side features UR Luv Is Fake! a deep and minimal groove followed by The Right, a slow house jam. Poker Flat inaugurate their brand new vinyl- only series with a special gem from Kindimmer. Born and bred in Greece but now Berlin-based, Thanasis Voulgaris has built up a steady following and gained significant sup- port from a range of heavyweight DJs.
This record puts the seal on his burgeoning reputation for sophisticated and varied house.

'Quite Beachy' teems with subtle textures and dynamic details. A rich, heavy kick and crisp percussion underpin a spooky melodic motif, casting a vibe of eerie suspense and hypno- tic intensity. 'Fractions of Essence' veers off into different territory, marrying a rubbery kick to sustained pads and snatches of birdsong. Gliding, smooth and dappled with light and shade, it's the sound of an endless autobahn journey through the heart of a dense forest.

'A Complex Network Of Flaws' and '3 Thoughts' both sit on lo-fi rhythms created from a bricolage of eclectic sounds. The former's abstract arrangement of blue chords evokes Theo Parrish at his most meditative while the latter's funk and sense of swing are sure to prove irresistible on many a peak-time floor

Italian-born Pirupa makes his debut on the Crosstown Rebels sub-label Rebellion with ‘Cristallo’, while Maher Daniel supplies the remix.

“This is a special EP for me. ‘Cristallo’ is very significant to me, I made it in 2014 while inspired by my stay in Ibiza last August and the magic of the island, with its hot and sexy sounds; while ‘Save a Prayer’ was created more recently in April, inspired by my last tour in the US where lots of particular things have happened. I am very happy with the work done and especially to debut on a label very important to me from an artist like Damian Lazarus, who I respect and have respected for over 10 years, since I started as a DJ and producer”. The opening track ‘Cristallo’ immediately transports you to the White Isle, with its steel drums bringing the rhythm, an infectious beat, and a breakdown to cause chaos. Next up is the Maher Daniel remix of ‘Cristallo’, and a heavier bassline and trippy effects. The final track 'Save A Prayer’ is a siren to the dancefloor, with a gnawing beat and a drop that proves why Pirupa is supported by so many.
