Amadeus sees it’s catalog graced yet again by New Zealand outfit Chaos In The CBD. The kiwi brothers, birthed Ben & Louis Helliker-Hales, are no new faces to the label, or the wide variety of genre-bending acronyms they encompass. Having recently relocated from tropical Auckland to damp London earlier this year, the two take their productions along with them in their latest efforts, 816 To Nunhead.

Title track and aside, “816 To Nunhead,” is tinged with what’s left of summer. A nostalgic tune built for the sun and soaked in funk. It’s a track reminiscent of early french disco, almost as if built for the two robots themselves. Guitar plucks and hi hats flow seamlessly throughout the tune, aided by a glorifying vocal, “I would like to think of my music as just an extension, an extension of me of today or whatever.” 

What emotion of freedom and escape evoked on the Aside can be contrasted on the flip, “78 To Stanley Bay,” a tune built behind the ever looming theme of loneliness. Accompanied by a live trumpet courtesy of Isaac Aesili, ’78 To Stanley Bay’ tells us a story, or rather a journey, built behind dirty hats and delayed keys. This is a track fashioned for everywhere but the club, and we absolutely love that.

Frits Wentink takes to his own Bobby Donny imprint to deliver a collaborative release with DJ Boring dubbed 'Wasted Years Of Pumping Iron'. The EP consists of three jacking and glitchy house track including the swinging, garage influenced deep house cut 'Chad Brothers'.

This exciting collab brings together two of the brightest talents to emerge from the underground in recent years. Frits with standout releases Wolf Music and Detroit Swindle's Heist, and Dj Boring developing a cult-like following with releases on Shall Not Fade's sud-label Lost Palms, E-Beamz and the Let's Play House sub-label LPH WHITE. With that, this forthcoming EP is not to be overlooked.

While we’re less sure about who/what Momios is and why they/it should be fought, the acid and jazz parts of our premiere are self-evident. Fighting Momios With Acid And Jazz is the B1 cut from the upcoming second release of Leicester label, Flat White. Bogota’s Felipe Gordon is the artist behind the record that encompasses a lot of what we like at Bolting Bits: flavours of house, disco, techno and interesting blends of samples and original instrumentation.

The "Deep Fried Banana" EP is a five-tracker featuring a remix from The Last Trip To Gandahar, whose work we’ve premiered before. There isn’t a track we wouldn’t buy on this record, but our premiere is the stand out for us. While the percussive elements cut in and out, dusty-sounding jazz piano samples and a looped acid synth-line staple this track almost all the way through. It’s one of those pieces of music that feel like every part is completely intentional – even the rough bits are supposed to be rough. Felipe Gordon has built an impressive resume for himself recently, with releases on London’s Quintessentials and Berlin’s Toy Tonics, and we’re happy we can play a part in getting the word out on this guy, because his future looks bright. Also on the record, check out: Groove 37 (if funky basslines and dissonant keys are your thing) and The Last Trip To Gandahar’s driving, dance-focused remix of the EP’s title track, Deep Fried Banana.

COEO are back on Toy Tonics! After uninterrupted touring around the globe, followed by a short creative break the guys come back with an even stronger sound. With the new EP they go more underground again. Its addressed to the clubs and night owls out there, who turn night into day and won't stop dancing! 

The sound is based on classic house patterns and includes a lot of cool saxophones, big piano stabs & rhythmic piano solos. They even go tribal, use arpeggios and switch into breakbeat heaven. The four Originals are a great next step in the COEO evolution. The unique warm, catchy atmosphere of the tracks can create that special COEO euphoria which made them a lot of fans. From Moodymann to Disclosure, Mall Grab to Kenny Dope, the list is long. 

It’s fantastic to see how popular they became over the last couple of years. The last COEO vinyl sold over 2500 copies and some of their tracks have millions of Spotify plays. It’s DJ FOOD. Pure bliss!
