The seventeenth Chapter brings together a cast headed by AFFECT! (Moodmusic, Chapter 24) and Maximillion (Tonkind) for an EP heavy on musicality.

Polyhymnia was in Greek mythology the Muse of sacred music and dance. AFFECT! and Maximillion channel this divine energy into the EP's title track, an uplifting melodic piece rich in organs and bright synths.

The original is accompanied by a set of Editions which each apply their own unique stamp on proceedings and result in a rounded, high quality EP. JOBE (Connaisseur, Selador) brings a more driving take on the original which gives it a cosmic edge. Stevie R and Alex Zed, founders of London's Inside Out Records, develop an intricate and organic groove for a more twisted, leftfield cut. Finally, young Peruvian talent Ly ChenG (Blankhaus) closes the EP with a wonderful piece of drifty, laidback electronica.

Named for one of the Nine Muses who sang from the sacred hills, this essential EP is sure to inspire rapture and reverence in all who listen.

AFFECT! - Different Sides

Save Us Records proclaim their fifth release, with a three track EP by Affect!. Comprising of one original and two remixes, one each from Nick Devon and Kris Davis, ‘Akaria” upholds the quality of music that has now become synonymous with the label.
‘Akaria’ is the type of track that allows your mind to wander and never return. The sound is wholesome and seductive, with its dubbed chugging bass line and subtle breakdowns, which all flow effortlessly amongst a cascade of melodies and synth chords. 
Nick Devon hits things a little harder for his remix of ‘Akaria’. The synth chords are racier and the bass line is much tougher, creating a tension that is both electric and formidable. The full brunt of this remix however, sits with its dark percussive intricacies, which are layered seamlessly into Nick’s signature sound.
The final remix on the EP comes from Kris Davis. Imposing his own imprint upon ‘Akaria’, led Kris to really draw out the extremity of the strings, as well as the relentless nature of the tracks overall vibe. He manages to balance perfectly the melancholy of the original and the darkness within Nick’s remix.

Berlin meets Casablanca, this is how you could describe this project by Namito and Brams from Morocco. A chance meeting at the legendary Riverside studio complex in Berlin Kreuzberg lead to them joining forces to make music.

The results are two fresh sounding pieces of positive, almost spiritual house music with no real limits or boundaries. Yto takes you on a journey of colourful soundscapes and hypnotising melodies accompanied by a trademark driving groove from the Berlin based producer with Iranian roots, Namito.

Systematic boss Marc Romboy pulled in two of his favourites on remix duty. Artists he knew he could trust when it came to creating new interpretations of the beautiful original. Ruede Hagelstein and Gabriel Ananda instantly agreed and delivered two outstanding and more importantly, touching new versions of Yto.

Currently in a fine run of form, Sasse’s Moodmusic label looks to Affect! for its next EP. He
has appeared on this label before now and this time cooks up three more sumptuous
tracks designed for both emotional and physical impact.
Affect! is Hamburg’s Jacques Müller, someone who has been active for a few years now
as a producer and who is a resident DJ at Villa Nova in Hamburg. Here he delivers three
slices of his ultra slick, well produced spaced-out, semi balearic, yet mind blowing and
bassbin rolling deep house.
The magical ‘Inventio’ opens up things with spiritual pads rippling above a lazy mid tempo
kick. Those big, inviting drums are a rich bed off which arcing pads and modulated
patterns all unfold. Unhurried and musical, absorbing and rich in design, it is a stunning
opener.
The perfect late night experience that is ‘Calyndra’ is just as exquisite with its pixel thin
synths imbuing the deep house beats with real emotion. Rough claps, spritely grooves and
a certain sense of sombreness all characterise this one and continue to suck you in from
the first beat to the very last.
Last but not least, ‘Aetas’ is another truly moving concoction with starry night sky melodies
unfolding peacefully over long legged drums, arcing synth lines and loveably downbeat
drums. It is an atmospheric track that is expansive yet insular and is masterfully well
balanced.
Once again Moodmusic lead from the front and prove that deep house can be soulful,
musical and truly refreshing.

Surprisingly expected. Teasing yet fulfilling.

Purging from the deepest depths of my dreams. Sustain, decay, and control the amount of motion of thoughts that enter my inner self. Wake up from anything, discovering your own reality.

And then all of a sudden there was Bruce Springsteen- considered a true legend by some, but I couldn’t care less. And you probably should ask yourself the same question. Twice.

What really interests me, and always triggers my imagination is this; sounds that fade and come back, frequently dissolving and eventually might re-appear.

Or not. What do you expect? Almost like a true ending, from books or the movies. Imagine. But this literally all means nothing- compared to end of this story.

This edit has been sitting on our hard drive for over 3 years. We included it on a mix we did for Throne Of Blood in the Winter of 2013 and since then friends and DJ's have asked us about it.  We always intended to put this out. Now, it's finally here.

What can we say about Tom Ze other than, "We love Tom Ze!"?  Most anything we could tell you about the man you could either easily look up your self via the Information Super Highway, or experience  by immersing your ears in the wonderful sounds of his catalog (which we strongly urge you to do if you haven't already). Our latest addition in the premiere series is  an AFFECT! + Maximillion collaboration called 'Polyhymnia', remixed by JOBE on Chapter 24 records. Jobe's edition of 'Polyhymnia' is a cosmic, cinematique and powerful track with a surprisingly slick and edgy undertone to it. We love it.

Anathema Records is back with “Veritas”, the second release which brings fresh deep house sounds from German artists Jacques Muller, also known as Affect! Jacques’ production skills have led him to release music on well known and respected imprints, such as Moodmusic Records, Crossfrontier Audio, and Save Us, just to name a few. Affect! Is teaming up with Thyladomid, and Philipp Kempnich for two incredible throbbing remixes.

The first track giving the title to the EP, “Veritas”, is a masterpiece by Affect! That includes a majestic vocal accompanied by a transcendent arps groove making it a versatile piece or art. Then, “Kilia”, starts with building up a cozy mood with a drum groove followed by mesmerizing synths, and warm pads reaching its climax with an ambitious and harmonious bass line. T

In the last part of the EP, we have Thyladomid remixing “Veritas” with a more techy sound turning the masterpiece to something deeper at the time of testing it on the dance floor. And last but not least, Philipp Kempnich transforms “Kilia” to otherworldly atmospheres resting on top of a steady, infectious bass line.

No rest and no compromises that is how we no the dancefloor tunes by Rafael Cerato. Grooving synth lines and a dark vibe in it will bring the right club feeling. The collab with Anton Dhouran and Jonatan Backelie as singer is more deep and melodic. Starting totally chilled and soulful this track will be the right one to come down. At least “Torino“ with Martin Kremser brings some bleeps and epic breaks. The sun is back and we can’t wait to dance outside to this tune.
