For our latest story in sound, Russian-born, classically-trained artist KatrinKa returns to her home label Chapter 24 in collaboration with the British producer, DJ, vocalist & multi-instrumentalist Thomas Gandey.

KatrinKa’s emotive, enticing and melodic grooves are a perfect fit for Gandey’s haunting vocals. The Nameless One is a bewitching follow up to 2015’s Beauty, a combination of dark languid rhythms and exotic scales. Meanwhile, How Does It Feel takes things to deeper, more techno-influenced dancefloors.

The EP is completed by a set of powerful Editions by Chapter 24 artists Sezer Uysal and Stas Drive, with label newcomer and up-and-coming star Tim Engelhardt also making a big impression.

Sezer Uysal (Suara, Manual) applies a cosmic and driving touch to The Nameless One, while emphasising the Eastern musicality of the original. Tim Engelhardt (Poker Flat, Cityfox) shares a dirty, groovy and sparkling vision of How Does It Feel, while Ukrainian Stas Drive (Sudbeat, Crosstown Rebels) transforms the track with big, bold synths culminating in dreamy pads.

With music of this calibre, The Nameless One shall not remain unknown for long and marks KatrinKa’s triumphant return.

I'm Bahri Yüksel, known by my stage name Jaarmon. My introduction to music and the initiation of my DJ career dates back to 2012 in Ankara. My interest in electronic music took shape by drawing inspiration from maestros of that era such as Koze, Nicolas Jaar, David August, and Four Tet, who significantly influenced the foundation of my musical journey.

In the music scene of Ankara, I laid the groundwork for my career by performing in prominent clubs like Kite, Pixel, Riff, Haze Daze. During this period, I had the privilege of participating in major festivals like Sonance Festival and A Teste of Summer.

In 2016, my sets were featured on digital platforms such as Fg Radio and Radio IFlim. Subsequently, I continued my career in Istanbul, delivering performances at renowned venues like Suma Beach, Birdy Pera, Cue, Fırın, Kiki, Geyik, Kasette, Setup, Tavern, Parallele, and House of Superstep.

My repertoire spans a wide spectrum, blending genres like house, disco, soul disco, deep, and Asian sounds, creating a unique composition to offer a distinctive experience to the audience.

Over the past year, while residing in Asia, I have immersed myself in cultural experiences. This period has fueled my focus on music production, drawing inspiration from the rich tapestry of cultural interactions. I perceive music as an expression of infinite vibrations and a holographic interpretation that reflects the soul through the fusion of sound and visuals.

Music, for me, holds a special significance as a grand art form that enhances, heals, and enriches human consciousness. I believe that genres and movements contribute significantly to human development, making the profession a transformative and uplifting journey. Shaping my career in line with these principles, I am continually nourished by the universality and depth of music.
