As the waning of the final winter moon came to an end, Chapter 24 entered the world of wax with its first 12-inch release. For this next story in sound, now released in digital format for the first time, we welcome back Kurt Baggaley (@scape-one), whose wonderful 'Winterland' also receives the attentions of Patlac (@patlac) and Petar Dundov (@petardundov) with two immaculate Editions.

The EP has been in the hands of a chosen few since last summer, and has already been played by Âme, Solomun and H.O.S.H. at some of the world’s biggest festivals.  Although initially released on vinyl only, the Patlac Edition was the number one most charted track on Resident Advisor in February, picking up Pete Tong support along the way.

An artist who lives and breathes electronic music culture, Kurt Baggaley has evolved his productions into a unique and personal sound since his early days as the Electro artist Scape One. Taking in influences from early 80's Chicago House, Detroit Techno and New York Club, with a fusion of Italo Disco, Euro Synth and Electro, his huge Former Self EP on SoHaSo in Spring 2015 was met with widespread acclaim on both digital and physical formats. Supported by the likes of Michael Mayer and Dixon, it was followed up with his debut release on Chapter 24 a few months later, opening the book with his Spiral EP.

Patlac takes the reins for the first Edition. With original releases on liebe*detail and Soulfooled and remixes for Pets Recordings, Noir and Musik Gewinnt Freunde, his music possesses an empathy for time, people and place. Retaining some of the disco influence of the original, this sensitive and thoughtful approach results in an energetic Edition driven by pushing rhythms and deep, powerful grooves, but also with a refined sense of harmony and melody.

With the Winterland EP, Chapter 24 turns the page on its first volume of releases, closing the Aesop’s Fables artwork series with a stunning linocut portrayal of 'The Wolf and the Crane' from in-house artist Simon Vaeth.  The lessons from Aesop will make way for those of the Tarot, as the Book of Changes continues to shine a light on the wintry path ahead.

Here is a fact: Peacocks live in dense, forested areas where they roost in trees and gather together in flocks called “parties.” They seduce with their dance and their distinctive calling voices. In allusion to the mysterious bird, Klassified Records is corresponding to the peacock’s livelihood and is back with a second volume of The Feathers’ Eyes compilation.

Brought to you by Klassified founders RAMMÖ and Parallells, ‘Les Terres de Tawa’ is a collaboration from the four childhood friends from the South of France. An energetic and rocky tune combining vibrant guitars to groovy beats.


This marks RAMMÖ’s debut on their label. After a busy year touring around Asia and Colombia, performing at festivals such as The Monastery, Klassified Music Festival or Bali Spirit Festival the two friends start the year with a banging tune and have a lot of projects coming up.

Having previously featured on Eskimo Recordings' 2018 compilation 'The Purple Collection’ as one half of Languages, Franz Matthews returns to the label alongside fellow Berliners Local Suicide with 'Meditation / Tutan Jamon', 2 tracks of heady disco that join the dots between the German capital and the sun soaked souks of North Africa.

Despite living on the same street for 4 years Franz Matthews and Brax Moody and Vamparela from Local Suicide only met recently through their common friend Sam Berdah (Days of Being Wild, Club Bizarre). Making up for lost time, the trio soon found themselves bonding in the studio, digging into their love of both the esoteric and travelling, and together channelled those passions into 2 spiritually infused numbers.
 
'Meditation'was the first result of this inspired partnership, appropriately recorded at the same time that Matthews was also recording music for a meditation app, and features a freeform stream of consciousness from Vamparela over a suitably hypnotic backing of wistful guitars and breezy rhythms. 'Tutan Jamon' meanwhile shares its DNA with recent Eskimo releases by the likes of Simple Symmetry and SHMLSS, the track built around a couple of very Egyptian influenced riffs and comes in two distinct versions.
 
Between his production studio MOWD, his duo Languages, and his solo electronic project, Franz Matthews keeps himself busy. Making Berlin his hometown for the past 5 years, the Franco-German producer and DJ has always kept one hand in the Indie Dance world, while the other wanders in more Psychedelic Pop realms, a winning combination that's seen him release music on imprints such as Eskimo Recordings, Days of Being Wild, Rockets & Ponies.
 
Local Suicide, aka DJs and producers Brax Moody and Vamparela, meanwhile have made a name for themselves putting on some of the most infamous underground parties Berlin has to offer, running their acclaimed blog and still finding time to make waves with their productions, a wild fusion of new wave, acid, slow techno and post-disco that has seen them work with the likes of Rodion, Mijo and Curses in recent years.

‘Hiraeth’ is the second single release of Sid Le Rock’s upcoming album on hafendisko, foreshadowing the dance-floor oriented brilliance of indie electronica he presents on Scenic Route.

Sid Le Rock resides in Berlin right now, but grew up under the maple trees of Northern Ontario, Canada, where he began to amaze the world as a prolific producer, DJ and live performer. My Favourite Robot, Kompakt, Mute Records and hafendisko are only a few big time labels
on which he has released on. Likewise, he continuously releases music on his own imprint - Beachcoma. 

‘Hiraeth’ is drawing attention on how Sid Le Rock authentically represents his underground-credebility.

The track plays with the sonic charm of a broken down arpeggio which evolves throughout the etherealsynth pads and scapes. It has a great vibe, that goes deep and fits into the sunset moods of a late
summer festival as likely as it heats the dance-floor during a club night.

French producer Damon Jee (Correspondant, Sinopat, Rotten City) breaks down the original to its initial elements, creating a monster of a remix that goes under the skin. What has been light-headed and moody before, now becomes a tool for an absolute club-banger that is
going to leave its marks!

The artwork has been created by Alex Solman, “the man behind the distinctive drawings for the Golden Pudel and one of the best visual artists working in music today” (Resident Advisor)

Sid Le Rock - Hiraeth (Damon Jee Remix)

Incroyable Music welcome Fabio Vanore once again to the label alongside a guest appearance from Aquarius Heaven on vocal duty. The 'Lovegame' EP also features two remixes from Ede and Johannes Albert.

The original cut steps up first, driven by pulsating bass throbs and icey hats, all of which combine as a rich foundation for the instantly recognisable vocals of Aquarius that carry you elegantly across the duration of the production.

Ede's work takes things a little darker with echoing snares and warped industrial synths whilst Johannes Albert offers up sunrise smooth chord progression and twinkly melodies, both adaptations of which standing strong amongst the crowd.
