Stavros Potamitis (Stevie R) evoca emociones y teje cuentos sónicos combinando la música popular Rebetiko de su tierra natal griega con la electrónica analógica. Además de ser músico, productor e intérprete, Stavros es ingeniero de sonido y profesor en Point Blank Music College en Londres. 

Nacido y criado en Chipre, Constantinos Parisinos (Parisinos) se mudó al Reino Unido a principios de los 2000. Un coleccionista obsesivo de oscuras gemas melódicas con una atracción inherente por secuencias repetitivas y ritmos hipnóticos más lentos; un entusiasta de lo poco convencional y un apasionado creyente en el poder de una cultura techno underground verdaderamente diversa.

Aparte de una amistad de hermanos, Stevie R & Parisinos han formado una formidable asociación sonora. Ya han colaborado con artistas líderes y pioneros en la música electrónica como Lena Platonos, Tolouse low Trax, Khidja, MR TC, Zombies in Miami, Man Power, Simple Symmetry. Han lanzado música para sellos como ME ME ME Recordings, Playground Records, Lagasta y el sello Inside Out Records. Han aparecido en la mayoría de los sitios de medios y blogs clandestinos, incluidos Stamp the Wax, Ransom Note, Lagasta, DJ Mag, Mixmag.

También realizan una residencia mensual en la estación de música experimental georgiana Mutant Radio. Su música ha sido apoyada por reconocidos creadores del gusto como Lena Willikens, Vladimir Ivkovic, Red Axes o Jennifer Cardini entre muchos otros .

We are proud to present the nineteenth instalment of our Disco Suicide mix series by UK-based Stevie R (@stevie-r) & Parisinos (@Parisinos)!

Stavros Potamitis (aka Stevie R) conjures emotion and weaves sonic tales by combining the rebetiko folk music of his Greek homeland with analogue electronics. Working with a range of collaborators he offers forward thinking, avant-garde music and daring, theatrical live performances that freely blend and cross over between musical styles. As well as being a musician, producer and performer, Stevie is a lecturer at Point Blank Music College in London, runs his own record label Inside Out Records and is A & R of Chapter 24 Records. Always looking to push musical and sonic boundaries, he is just as relentlessly focused on moving things forward in his own work as he is committed to supporting the next generations to break through.

Born and raised in Nicosia, Cyprus, Constantinos Parisinos moved to the UK in early 00’s to study medicine. Electronic music quickly formed a gateway of expression. An obsessive collector of obscure melodic gems with an inherent attraction for repetitive sequences and slower, hypnotic rhythms; an enthusiast for the unconventional and the diverse underground music culture. 

Apart from his solo endeavours, Parisinos has formed a formidable sonic partnership with Stavros Potamitis (Stevie R). With a focus on blending Greek folk music (Rembetiko), mesmerising vocals and middle eastern scales with slower rhythms, acid lines and powerful percussion, their distinct sound captivates and hypnotises dancefloors. Together, they also release more experimental music under their more enigmatic alias After Altamont. Stavros Potamitis and Constantinos Parisinos are also harnessing their vision of electronic music through their label Inside Out Records. Aims for next year include a new live act and album.

Premiere: Theo Meier - Adriatic Nights - Bar 25

For Casomat's second release we're extremely happy to welcome Berlin duo Man & Wife to the label, who contribute two diverse originals served together with a remix by Johannes Klingebiel.

Man & Wife, originally from England, have spent the last 7 years in the Techno-Hauptstadt, not only honing their production skills but also developing their musical tastes, drawing in influences from all over the electronic spectrum. They describe their sound as "fundustrial dischno" and it's not hard to see why when you hear their varied productions.

'Blonde' is an understated four-to-the-floor number, sitting on the border between house &techno and elegantly pairing soul & melody with raw & almost industrial sounding drums. An interesting combination which bridges the gap between styles not normally heard together.

Stepping up to rework 'Blonde' is Johannes Klingebiel, whose recent releases include a 12" on Tim Sweeney's Beats In Space and an LP on his own 'ancient future now' imprint. He lays a garage-influenced groove and a bouncy bassline under the main arp from the original, with plenty of lush reverbs, spacey delays and tasteful distortion to boot.

They have released music for labels including ME ME ME Recordings, Playground Records, Hard Fist, Lagasta, Rotten City, Sinchi Collective, Nein Records and on their own imprint Inside Out Records. They have featured in most media sites and underground blogs including Stamp the Wax, Ransom Note, Lagasta, DJ Mag, Mix Mag. They had also run a monthly residency on the Georgian experimental music station Mutant Radio in 2020-2021. Their music has been supported by taste makers including Lena Willikens, Vladimir Ivkovic, Red Axes, Jennifer Cardini and many more. They have performed in many venues across London (including Fabric, Shacklewell arms, Electric Brixton, XOYO, Boat Live, Pickle Factory), whilst also performing in international events and venues such as ADE Amsterdam and Sisyphos.

Together, Stevie R & Parisinos also release more experimental music and live performance projects under their more enigmatic alias After Altamont. Stavros Potamitis and Constantinos Parisinos are also harnessing their vision of electronic music through their “rising star” underground label Inside Out Records.

Many artists thrive on hype but others let the music do the talking. Stevie R is one of those that lets the music speak for itself. 

Our next Telling Tales mix comes from Athens-born, London-based artist Stavros Potamitis, aka Stevie R, whose Jalemba EP with Delfin will be released on Chapter 24 next month. 

Running his own label Inside Out Records, launching his band project After Altamont, working as a sound designer for Cr2 Records and Sample Magic, and releasing on the likes of OFF Recordings, Motek and Steyoyoke has kept Stavros very busy in the studio. 

Perhaps one of the most underrated producers in the scene, he is also an accomplished DJ and live performer with plenty of significant local and international shows over the past decade. 

With a couple of releases already out on Chapter 24, including his hugely popular unofficial bootleg of RY X's Only, we are delighted to welcome Stevie R back to Chapter 24 to continue his story.

Telling Tales is a series of podcasts giving one of the Chapter 24 family, one of our remixers, or one of our headliners an opportunity to deliver us a story in sound. These mixes are sure to separate the signal from the noise.

Here is a fact: Peacocks live in dense, forested areas where they roost in trees and gather together in flocks called “parties.” They seduce with their dance and their distinctive calling voices. In allusion to the mysterious bird, Klassified Records is corresponding to the peacock’s livelihood and is back with a second volume of The Feathers’ Eyes compilation.

Brought to you by Klassified founders RAMMÖ and Parallells, ‘Les Terres de Tawa’ is a collaboration from the four childhood friends from the South of France. An energetic and rocky tune combining vibrant guitars to groovy beats.


This marks RAMMÖ’s debut on their label. After a busy year touring around Asia and Colombia, performing at festivals such as The Monastery, Klassified Music Festival or Bali Spirit Festival the two friends start the year with a banging tune and have a lot of projects coming up.

Having previously featured on Eskimo Recordings' 2018 compilation 'The Purple Collection’ as one half of Languages, Franz Matthews returns to the label alongside fellow Berliners Local Suicide with 'Meditation / Tutan Jamon', 2 tracks of heady disco that join the dots between the German capital and the sun soaked souks of North Africa.

Despite living on the same street for 4 years Franz Matthews and Brax Moody and Vamparela from Local Suicide only met recently through their common friend Sam Berdah (Days of Being Wild, Club Bizarre). Making up for lost time, the trio soon found themselves bonding in the studio, digging into their love of both the esoteric and travelling, and together channelled those passions into 2 spiritually infused numbers.
 
'Meditation'was the first result of this inspired partnership, appropriately recorded at the same time that Matthews was also recording music for a meditation app, and features a freeform stream of consciousness from Vamparela over a suitably hypnotic backing of wistful guitars and breezy rhythms. 'Tutan Jamon' meanwhile shares its DNA with recent Eskimo releases by the likes of Simple Symmetry and SHMLSS, the track built around a couple of very Egyptian influenced riffs and comes in two distinct versions.
 
Between his production studio MOWD, his duo Languages, and his solo electronic project, Franz Matthews keeps himself busy. Making Berlin his hometown for the past 5 years, the Franco-German producer and DJ has always kept one hand in the Indie Dance world, while the other wanders in more Psychedelic Pop realms, a winning combination that's seen him release music on imprints such as Eskimo Recordings, Days of Being Wild, Rockets & Ponies.
 
Local Suicide, aka DJs and producers Brax Moody and Vamparela, meanwhile have made a name for themselves putting on some of the most infamous underground parties Berlin has to offer, running their acclaimed blog and still finding time to make waves with their productions, a wild fusion of new wave, acid, slow techno and post-disco that has seen them work with the likes of Rodion, Mijo and Curses in recent years.
