I Wish I Could Do It All Over Again

I grew up in an ethnically diverse neighborhood in the Bronx, NYC, during a period of intense racial tension. Just getting through the day at school was a struggle. I picked up the guitar as a way to stay off the streets, and I found that music was the only thing that could transcend those barriers.  My song “Living on the Wrong Side of Town” is inspired by those early experiences.

When I tried pursuing a degree in music, I ended up switching to computer science instead. I didn’t have the confidence or self-esteem back then, and, to be honest, I didn’t want to struggle. I reflect on those decisions in my song “Making Choices.”

Many years have passed, and I’ve done well for myself. But music has always been a constant, helping me navigate through the hardest times. The difference now is that I have more life to draw from, more stories to tell.

When you write a song and truly connect to it, it becomes a piece of who you are—a reflection of your journey.
