Pair of Universal Audio SP - 1 were compared to Neumann KM 184. 
Played on Martin EC-0028 acoustic guitar.

- Neumanns KM 184 are louder and the output level of these were reduced to -2dB to be able to compare them to Universal Audio SP-1 on the same output level.

- Also Neumanns have more clarity and are more nuanced that SP-1.

- BUT, for the price of 395 Euro (SP-1) against 1280 Euro (KM 184) (!!) they are great mics for that price range. Workmanship is also great (as all other UAD products).

* Martin EC 0028 acoustic guitar was recorded in LUNA with V76 pre amp (in Unison slot) on two separate mono tracks. 
On the MAIN output I engaged APi summing, ATR-102, APi 2500 and on INSERTS: Shadow Hills, Chandler curve bender, bx_digital V3 and Oxford limiter plugins. NO EQs, compressor or reverb. 

Please make your own judgement.
