A music diet of pirate radio and rave tape packs consumed from a young age is inherent in the texture of Reset Safari’s work. Skipping lunch at school to save the money for buying vinyl at the weekend, the dedication was always there. With no desire to be restricted to one particular sound, essences of his love for Garage music filter through to his enigmatic take on House & Techno.

You know Dirtybird for dropping basslines and creating smiles on the dance floor since January 2005.

The fun family vibe of the Dirtybird label can be traced back to a free event started in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco. This new kind of house music went against the smooth vocal house that was popular at the time and derived its influences mostly from hip-hop, drum n bass, and American funk. The free outdoor BBQ party was very rough around the edges but eventually became legendary amongst the people of San Francisco. This event was also a very influential factor in the decision by Claude VonStroke to start the record label in 2005.

Today, Dirtybird has offices in San Francisco and Los Angeles and has expanded into events and tour production. As it grows, the brand continues to expand beyond music into merchandise, licensing and artist management. In 2015, Dirtybird launched the inaugural Dirtybird Campout festival, which has been dubbed “Summer Camp For Adults”, and Dirtybird has been recognized from their achievements by being awarded "Underground Label of the Year" at the International Dance Music Awards, “Label of the Decade” by Mixmag, “Best North American Label” by DJ Mag, and Billboard’s "Top 5 Independent Dance Labels".

Music producers from Midlands before rising to prominence in underground house, the Midlands-based beatsmaker was smashing the Bassline scene and bagged two number 1 chart spots on the BBC1 xtra charts knocking the mighty T2’s Heartbroken off the number 1 spot with his Nicole Groove remix. This hurled the Midlands producer into the top spot of the scene. Gracing labels like Rossi B & Luca (Ministry of Sound) label More 2 da Floor, Northern Line Records and Marcus Nasty’s We R Bass with the type of dancefloor pressure steeped in Northern, Niche-inspired bounce.
Releases on Brazilian label Tobus (Sammy W & Alex E from Cuff) Beatdown records (Sonny Fodera) , Sleepin is Cheatin (Tom Zanetti), Abyss Records ,House Entertainment Records, We R Bass, More 2 da floor, Northern Line Records, MFR, Eastside Records and Top Shelf Material Records , X5 Dubs seemingly churns out warehouse workouts every week.
X5 Dubs propagate a new approach to House music, which makes his sets fresh, original and unforgettable. Blending heavy bass tracks with smooth vocals has been one of the secrets behind his success.  X5 Dubs has fast became one of the most booked djs smashing sets in the U.K and abroad and gracing the stage at many a festival. 
When it comes to production, being able to balance the delicate with the dangerous is one of X5’s key strengths as a producer, as is his ability to pull samples from the most unexpected of places and completely switch it up. A technically skilled DJ and superior talent in the scene, we’re expecting X5 Dubs to terrorise clubs with his shuddering bass-house jams deep into next year, and the year after that…

Manchester’s underground scene is fertile ground for producers and DJ’s to emerge. Sy Chan is for sure one of them. With years experience playing alongside, supporting major artists, and representing global brands, Sy Chan expresses the best cultural melting pot between east with west. His asian heritage combined with UK experience surely helped him to be recognised as a brand new name in the industry. His debut EP ‘Inner Minds’, on Horatio’s Berlin based label Natural Rhythm, has gained early support from artists such as Marco Carola, Luciano, Reboot, Paco Osuna, Nima Gorji, Gel Abril, Stacey Pullen, Federico Grazzini, just to name a few.
With many tracks & remixes lined up for release, including his long awaited ‘Bambara’ production, scheduled for release in early December on new Manchester label Sequential Records, Sy Chan is one to keep an eye on.
