On Sup Doc comedians Paco Romane and George Chen interview INTERESTING PEOPLE with STRONG OPINIONS about their FAVORITE DOCUMENTARIES.  
Truth is greater than fiction. 
The idea behind this documentary podcast started when Paco sat down to watch all of the PBS 100 best documentaries.  He particularly loves the slice-a-life-weird-americana types of docs: Brothers Keeper, MarJoe, Kid Stays In The Picture, Hoop Dreams, Grizzly Man etc. Every morning he’d watch one or two of these documentaries and afterwards he wanted to hear people and filmmakers discuss them. But after searching for a podcast devoted to discussing documentaries and interviewing people that love and make them he came up empty.  So he contacted his buddy George Chen a fellow documentary lover and together they started Sup Doc.

Paco Romane is a comedian, actor and writer.  He was twice voted “Best Comedian” in San Francisco "Best of The Bay" Has has also appeared on many television shows, films, and national commercials.His comedy has been featured on: Huffington Post, NBC, NPR, Funny or Die, Youtube, Cracked, NY Times, KQED and countless others.

George Chen has performed/hosted at SF Sketchfest, The Business, Put Your Hands Together Podcast, Marin Headlands Center for the Arts, Contemporary Jewish Museum, The Porchlight Storytelling Series, and SFMoMA. He runs the weekly Cynic Cave standup show at Lost Weekend Video in San Francisco and lives in Oakland, California.

Long time house music DJ & producer from Sheffield UK. I started out on Sheffield's pirate radio stations as DJ Jammer then played the warehouse all-nighters in the early 90's onwards.

In slightly more respectable climes I was resident at Scuba & Sub Rosa, playing alongside Larry Heard, Fred Everything, Music For Freaks, Atjazz, DIY, Joey Negro, Daniel Wang and a decidedly creaky memory forgets any others...

I started collecting records and subsequently trying to mix them in the early 90s; techno and electronica at first, but garage and house-music soon followed....

Gigs started to materialise in the mid 1990's, at first parties and pubs, but eventually night-clubs and free-parties.  Many a Saturday night was also spent hauling my record box down muddy tracks to woodland clearings around Derbyshire and South Yorkshire.  A nod and a wink go to the now long defunct Curfew Sound System for giving me many early breaks at the Broadfield Pub and The Arches night-club.

I enjoyed a spell of brief success from the late 90's through to mid 2000s, which saw regular bookings, residencies and numerous guest slots at legendary Sheffield club nights Remedy and Scuba, not to mention sets at Phonetics, Kabal and hard dance nights Headcharge and Planet Zogg.  Out of Sheffield, my record box accompanied me to the Glastonbury Festival, Sonar in Barcelona and numerous gigs in Copenhagen, thanks to my friends at Comfortable Records.

Not so much the jobbing DJ anymore, but still an avid collector of music, across all genres and formats, but still particularly vinyl - everything from Northern Soul classics to oddball electronica, retro techno cuts and anything with a heavy, hypnotic house groove.

Wild Medicine is a podcast series that raises the listeners' attention to the natural world around them. Each episode is designed to be a sonically soothing, music-driven ride. We lull the audience into a sense of peacefulness while heightening sensitivity to their surroundings and expanding awareness of the flora, fauna, rivers and wild places that are often ignored or overlooked in urban areas. Wild Medicine is a podcast that has a unique style. Ambient, electronic and organic musical textures, site specific field recordings and a rich variety of spoken word to illustrate our environmental theme, from stories and drama, to interviews and poetry. We mix them all up into a heady, lyrical brew of 'slow radio' that acts as an antidote to the attention deficit culture our mainstream has become. We aim to reach a broader audience than traditional nature programmes with non linear content that is informative, entertaining and constantly evolving. It's an 'easy' listen with a serious message about the importance of our connection with nature to our mental wellbeing. Wild Medicine unravels the beauty, power and magic of the natural world.
