Luckily Jimmy Biscuits has one last trick on his sleeve and it returns the bargain boys to a very familiar location to carry on delivering economy comedy content! This week, there is a packed bag of cheap eats, some delightful and some utterly frightful and Eli gets to slather himself in Sauce Report goodness. There's also a Price of Shite for the ages, with a truly upsetting collection of charity shop tat. We also learn a lot about mustard. Which is a surprise to everyone!

Welcome to CheapShow 2024! A new year of adventures, laughs and meltdowns awaits you. Sadly, your hosts are ABSOLUTELY not in the mood to get back into the swing of things. Eli is deathly ill and (frankly) should have cancelled and Paul is left to desperately pick up the slack. Badly. What should’ve been a powerhouse first episode of the year is more like a desperate fever dream instead. Maybe if Paul sings more, things will go alright? They’ve got a mountain of sugary sweet treats to throw themselves into this week and it may not have been the wisest idea at the end of the day. Ep 365: Big Can Energy

A long time ago, CheapShow was sent an unusual 7” vinyl record called The Sounds of London. The record contained an audio snapshot of the sounds of Britain’s capital in 1967. It’s a fascinating collage of iconic sounds and environmental background noises, offering a unique peek into the past. Rather than talk it about it on a Silverman’s Platter segment, Paul & Eli decided to go out into the centre of London to try and recreate it instead! This week, they’ll race around with their portable recording kit and try and collect as many modern takes of the original vinyl as possible. The Cheap Chaps will zip from Trafalgar Square, to Waterloo, back to Piccadilly Circus and on towards Fleet Street grabbing all the sounds they can! Will they be magnificently successful or will they completely cock it up? It’s a walkabout adventure that takes in bird dirt, arguments with elevators, a lucky break with the bells of St. Clements and a grotty plan to abuse a street performer! It’s the Sounds of London 2024 in the only way CheapShow knows how.

Ep 369: The Sounds of London 2024

This week’s episode is all a bit random and bemusing. Have you ever wondered what it would be like if Bugs Bunny ever visited London in the early 1970s? The answer may confuse you. In a Charity Shop Showcase, Paul is offering up a strange child’s album featuring Warner Brother’s most famous Looney Tunes that brings up way too many questions. Eli has a few odd trinkets himself, a curious assortment of toys, games and tiny toys, but Paul would rather get into his Page Turners segment! There are three books to investigate, ranging from comedy double act tie-in annuals to a large helping of 1980s nostalgia with Smash Hits 1985. It’s the final book that proves to be the most interesting. What if you turned Cadbury’s Crème Eggs into a literal egg hunt? One book, following in the trail of the legendary “Masquerade”, will present its own “Conundrum”! Find out more in this week’s economy comedy podcast!

Ep 372: Books Bunny

Every year Eli races off to Florida to spend time with his family, but he always makes sure he brings back something for the show. This week on CheapShow, Eli has a big bag of bounty filled to the brim with all kinds of snacks, treats and drinks. Maybe too many. It’s a food stuffed episode of CheapShow that has the cheap chaps tackle Buffalo Cheetos, Doritos Dinamita Sticks, Hot Nuts and (sadly for Paul) potted meat. Horrible potted meat. Hopefully the soft drink segment of the podcast will wash away any unpleasantness, as there are three fun sodas to sample. The only downside is that this part of the show allows Paul to make a load more enemies by proclaiming his hate for a particular type of pop! In amongst all the snacking, we get to catch up with TrackBot… Poor old TrackBot!

Ep 378: Gob Job

It’s common on CheapShow that we’ll have to look at the genesis of a very popular (or obscure) brand and often run straight to the arms of Wikipedia. Well, no more! In this week’s episode, Paul’s found a book called “How It All Began” that gives the potted history of some of the world’s most popular brands. There’s way too much to cover in one episode, so the cheap chaps pick a page each and find out more about the birth of plasticine and Y Fronts. Yes, Y Fronts! It’s a book that may come in handy in the future. Gannon’s Golden Games returns with a board game based on a reasonably recent ITV show that Paul & Eli have never heard of, nor care much for. However, it leads to one of the most exciting, twisty and thrilling games in the pod’s history. As if all that wasn’t enough, Graxton Industries have challenged CheapShow to create an event for sponsorship in the near future, but will their eventual plan be any good? Only time will tell. Also… Can Eli PLEASE stop grabbing his crotch, please?!

And in Cheap Eats, the boys go back to the Japanese well to look at a selection of fishy food and green tea candy made by a seemingly universally hated confectionery company.

Once again, it seems what started as a simple show soon devolves into the usual collection of slurs and empty threats!

Ep 37: The House of Pickles 2

Following on from the fallout of the infamous SEX episode, Ash is feeling considerably left out that no one wanted to write him into one of the sordid tales of CheapShow nookie... So Paul vamps one, much to Eli's chagrin. Ash then goes on to tell us about his vegan adventures in Rome, discovers who is in charge of penieses at the Vatican and what a little pooping statue means.

Ep 67: HoP 09 The Defecator

We promise, we will never talk about Russ Abbott's singing career again. Mostly because we have run out of stuff to criticise! In Episode 70 we take one last dip into the world of cheesy light entertainment music and discover a long long Abbott "classic". We also find something MUCH worse. A rare vinyl single. Introduced by "rumoured human" Noel (Tidy Beard) Edmonds. It's not good.
Elsewhere in everyone's favourite economy comedy podcast, Paul & Eli argue over more Tales from the Dancefloor, Paul sounds like he is giving up and Eli decides to do something filthy to make things worse!
It's not all grime, as Eli takes us once more into his Country Noodle Kitchen and rates, tastes and reviews some "cup noodles" from a range of leading, and not so leading, brands.
Will Paul join in? Or will he just decide to do a pretty poor impression of Eli doing his old stand up routine? We think you already know the answer to that one!

On CheapShow this week, Paul and Eli have a major case of the "Do You Remembers?" when they chance upon a big, thick book of cartoons. It's a whistle stop tour of British animation, comic book classic, lost gems and forgotten memories. We barely scratch the surface! If you half remember Dogtanian, Frank Sidebottom and whatever Action Gran is, have we got a trip down memory lane for you! Along the way, we also discover which 1980's celebrity likes which classic cartoon character (It's probably all made up though!) Elsewhere in the podcast, we have a bumper edition of The Price of Shite where Eli is gifted with another toy teddy bear. A truly upsetting moment in CheapShow history, as you will quickly find out. Lastly, there is a very good chance Eli's use of a Korean energy drink has fanned the flames of his "Egg Special" idea. God help us all!
