Years in the planning, CheapShow is finally leaving the UK and heading across the Atlantic ocean to explore the city of angels itself, Los Angeles! In a very special episode, Paul and Eli explores the many nooks and crannies of LA in an adventure that takes them over an extremely large, and particularly varied city. Along the way, they'll take a walk along Santa Monica pier, explore 3rd Street Promenade for a thrift store, hunt for the Winkie billboard location, try to escape Hollywood and a few other odd surprises too. Paul thinks being in LA makes him a better person, Eli doesn't believe it and just wants to find a place to have a smoke! It's Part One of "The LA Trilogy" of CheapShow adventures!

CheapShow wraps up its November month of very special episodes with a live show recorded as part of the Cheerful Earful Podcast Festival on November 4th at the Streatham Space Project, South London.
What happens when the vulgar, explosive nonsense of CheapShow teams up with the unnerving silliness of Digitiser? If you want to find out, listen to this episode of the economy comedy podcast! In 60 minutes, Paul, Eli, Mr Biffo and Sanja will take you on a random, hectic and damn near shambolic live show that just about gets across the finish line. Paul and Eli are still a little jetlagged from their Los Angeles adventure and bring some culinary leftovers from their trip. What American snacks will fail to pass muster and which will win over our stern judges? They also decide to give Mr Biffo a taste of The “Is It Mayo?” game and the outcome is one that causes Eli to leave the stage to go to the toilet. The grand finale of this week’s episode is the premiere performance of Beanus’ new play. It’s a production that tells you the REAL genesis of his story and isn’t deeply troubling AT ALL! Ep 360 Cheapitiser (Live)

It looks like Paul and Eli are finally back in the House of Mash and Eggs after a month of LA adventures and they’re trying to get back into the groove. It’s not long before they are arguing, shouting and exaggerating again like they’d never been away. It seems that Hollywood had no effect on them at all. To ease themselves back into the old CheapShow game, they’re taking on some new and unusual sodas and diving back into Eli’s record box to sample some silly singles. Once again Coca Cola Creations rears its ugly head with a new coke allegedly created by A.I from the year 3000… or something like that? How will a computer crafted cola fare? Will it be any better than the Pokémon themed “cheese and salt water” fizzy drink? They’re going to find out the hard way. In Silverman’s Platters, it’s a trio of tracks to endure that bounces from early library music electronica, singing sheep and the ruddy Chegwin brothers! Who IS Jeff Chegwin anyway? Ep 361: A.I. Soda From The Year 3000

As 2023 winds down, Paul and Eli are coming apart at the seams. Can they mentally make it over the New Year finish line? Judging by this week’s episode, it’s going to be touch and go. It’s apparent from the start that Paul is in full chaotic evil mode and that going to make life difficult for Eli. Eli doesn’t make it easy for himself either, by being overly honest about something we’d all rather move on from talking about. Obviously, Paul is going to exploit that to extreme lengths. There is a PO Box sourced Price of Right to explore but Paul has slipped in a ringer. However, because he can’t win any points this episode, Paul is going to out of his way to make sure Eli doesn’t. Finally, Gannon’s Golden Games unearths a “party game” called F* That, which is exactly what they think after playing it. It’s a fiery episode of CheapShow to warm your cockles!

Ep 362: Fluid Beef

Brace yourself! It’s time for the one episode of the year that always turns into an utter s***fest. It’s the 5th Annual Office Christmas Party and it’s going old school! After the tumultuous events of last year’s ambitious party, Paul has booked an actual abandoned office space to host his office shindig. He’s bought all the food, arranged all the booze and designed a very special Price of Shite. Eli has simply, begrudgingly, turned up. Over the next two and a half hours, you’re going to hear Eli form a union, Paul gets a little bit too drunk a little too fast, copious amounts of weird food consumed, a string of ugly cocktails spoiled by novelty mixers AND suffer through the toxic blasts of Eli’s guts. They’re going to try to “Eat, Drink and be Merry” but it’s more likely they’re going to “scoff, slurp and be angry”! Let’s just hope ALL those very special guests Paul invited turn up…

Ep 363: The 5th Annual Office Christmas Party

After the drunken madness of the 5th Annual Christmas Office Party, Paul and Eli decide to end the year on a more reflective note. On the recommendation of YouTuber John Rogers, the Cheap Chaps take a merry wander through London, starting in Angel, Islington and ending in Highgate Village. It’s a walk that allows Paul & Eli to revisit a few old haunts and discover a few new corners of the Capital at the same time. Along the way they’ll dish out a bonus/unnecessary Tales from the Dance Floor, tell a few stories from their early stand-up comedy days and open a few surprise presents too! Ep 364: A Christmas Constitutional

Welcome to CheapShow 2024! A new year of adventures, laughs and meltdowns awaits you. Sadly, your hosts are ABSOLUTELY not in the mood to get back into the swing of things. Eli is deathly ill and (frankly) should have cancelled and Paul is left to desperately pick up the slack. Badly. What should’ve been a powerhouse first episode of the year is more like a desperate fever dream instead. Maybe if Paul sings more, things will go alright? Ep 365: Big Can Energy

It’s been a while, but CheapShow is ready to dive into the cheats, liars and conmen of the past. This week, Paul and Eli take a look into the life of journalist Louis T Stone, who spun many a tall tale and become notorious for his outrageous reports. However, they soon learn that when it comes to truth in journalism, the more things change, the more things stay the same. Once Mr Stone has been put away, it’s time for “Paul’s Pleasant Pastimes” and it’s one that should put their terrible mouth noise skills to good use. Will playing “Soundiculous” drive them mad? Ep 366: Graxton's Gruft

It’s a proper jam packed, tat stuffed episode this week. Paul and Eli go head to head in one of most fiercely fought editions of The Price of Shite to date. Thanks to a PO box delivery, there is a wealth of charity store sourced items to peruse and evaluate for those sweet, sweet P’twings. From gadgets to board games, via retro magazines, grizzly VHS tapes and 90s nostalgia, there is a little bit of everything! Sadly, its during the Charity Shop Showcase where things go awry. Eli is in charge of the mystery item and Paul is not going to be happy when he finds out what he’s been fiddling with. It’s just another week in paradise for CheapShow.

Ep 368: Ennery Of Keverett

It’s been a while, but Eli and Paul are finally diving into a new batch of instant noodle. It’s a new year and because the Country Urban Noodle Testlab Kitchen is “occupied”, Eli is going to have to open up the “Noodle Boutique”. It’s a place where Eli can show off his hand picked noodle discoveries, and this week, he’s got two very interesting examples! Will they pass muster? Listen and find out!
