Ep 433: CheapShow TV 2025 (Part Two)

STEREO EDITION
When the sun is shining this brightly in the London sky, Paul and Eli refuse to stay cooped up inside CheapShow HQ… So, they are out and about (yes again!) to go on an aimless wander through another corner of London. This time they’ve decided, for no good reason, to explore Nunhead Cemetery, one of London’s “Magnificent 7” cemeteries. It’s a gothic, spooky, heavily wooded area packed with tombs, crypts, gravestones and unusually named deceased folk. As they stroll about, they’ll aim to be respectful but at some point, Eli will want to get the booze out and Paul will want to get the hell out of the place… And once they reach Peckham Rye Common, things will get a little bit more unhinged. In possibly one of CheapShow’s more directionless walkabout episodes, join the Cheap Chaps on one of the warmest and sunniest days of the year… in a ruddy graveyard!

Ep 434: Cemetery Men (Stereo Edition)

Somehow, someway, CheapShow has lasted a full decade. Ten whole years of tat and treasure, rants and raves, and adventure and abhorrent behaviour across 440 wonderfully mucky episodes! To celebrate the past 3652.5 days of economy comedy, Paul and Eli are doing exactly what you expect them to do… Drink an unnecessarily large amount of booze and bask in their own genius! Over the course of the next three hours, you’ll bear witness to the moral degradation of the hosts as the alcohol begins to corrode their ability to host the podcast. The plan had been to talk about the past ten years, reflect on their favourite episodes and read the kind thoughts and feelings of the CheapShow audience. This soon becomes a major problem, with each email and memory stamped on with drunken buffoonery. In fact, let’s be blunt, Paul has shamed himself this week and Eli has absolutely encouraged it. If you can stomach the ideas of your heroes falling apart over 179 minutes, well, you must be a glutton for punishment. All we can say is Paul and Eli are VERY SORRY for what you’re about to listen to!

Ep 440: The 10th Birthday Office Party

Blimey, something amazing has come in the post! After weeks of waiting, Eli and Paul get their hands on a test pressing of the CheapShow album, which would be exciting if it wasn’t for the awkward threat of Mr Postie! It’s not the only thing that has come in the post either! There is a USA flavoured “Price of Shite”, or rather “Cost of Crud”, this week! The question it raises is “Can Eli continue his hot streak?” and how much will that upset Paul? It’s a P.O.S packed with trivia, tat and trinkets for Eli to gush over! Finally, we return to the often forgotten “Tales from the Shop Floor” segment with an email guaranteed to upset everyone… Which includes its author, Paul and Eli and (worst of all) CheapShow listeners. It’s another rollercoaster of an episode!

Ep 444: Beep Beep Me Phone Went

The events of last week’s thrilling episode have taken their toll on Paul & Eli this week. They’re so tired out, they forgot to plan something to do and to make things worse, they are not in “the zone”! Thankfully (or not), Eli has something up his sleeve to “enhance” their “performance” and it may end up giving them both a false sense of confidence. If the stuff works at all! It’s a snack packed episode anyway, with the Cheap Chaps munching through hot habanero potato rings, Japanese Kit Kats, Cheesy Takis and a fair few hot sauces too! And finally, after MANY MANY threats to the Coca Cola company, Eli has got his mitts on some Orange Cream flavoured cans! Oh, lucky day! It’s time to get our munch on.

Ep 446: Beware The Mad Monk

After far too much time away, fair-weather co-host Ash Frith re-joins CheapShow just ahead of its 450th episode and what an episode! It’s a nice chunky one that throws Ash in at the deep end straight from the start. They’ve all got a lot to catch up on and it’s been a while since they’ve all been in the House of Sausage and Mash. It all leads to a 40 minute diversion into the sex, drugs and Rock & Roll private lives of comedians from yesteryear! It’s getting censored to F***! After that, it’s time for a classic Price of Shite and, to make things more challenging for our returning guest, Eli’s confidence and ego is off the charts. There is a mix of tat, toys and musical surprises that must be priced rightly and Paul is struggling to juggle his loyalties! One more episode until 450, it’s exciting!

Ep 449: Mumchance

It’s time to get our platters out on CheapShow this week! Paul & Eli have unearthed a few comedy albums from the once popular Grumbleweeds musical troupe! Who are these gentlemen? Where they any good? Has their material aged well? Will we get annoyed listening to “There’s No Business Like Show Business” over and over and over? A quick listen to their output should answer a few of those questions! Elsewhere in this week’s episode, Paul’s got a Gannon’s Golden Games on the go and is very excited to play it. The game is an early 2000s electronic “eBay auction bidding game” and, as Eli and Paul are sadly about to find out, absolutely doesn’t work as an audio only podcast medium. Just how bad does it get? Ep 454: eBay Gum!

Special Guest: Nick Helm
For some reason, Nick Helm was keen to come back on to the podcast and, well, who are Paul and Eli to deny him the experience of more economy comedy catastrophe? In a more than chunky episode, Nick is subjected to numerous rants, mindless meltdown moments of madness and wade through his fair share of tat. Eli has come prepared with a bag of goodies, and quite possibly the worst joke he’s ever told in the podcast’s history. We genuinely apologise in advance. Even though Eli has brought trinkets and spicy noodles for Nick, Paul has crafted a JAWS themed “Price of Shite”, packed with shark based items to investigate and evaluate. Ep 455: Helm's Deep

It’s an episode of extremes this week, as Eli and Paul battle through the usual segments whilst trying to deal with a whole host of new annoyances. Jimmy Biscuits and Richard Brandoff are back and trying to capitalise on their glorious return to the podcast. Paul is NOT happy to be dealing with an attic full of old and new CheapShow characters and something has to give. To make things worse, a trip to the Snack Palace reveals a very dark denouement for that particular segment. Two crisps enter, but do ANY of them leave this episode alive? Finally, there is a Price of Shite battle for the ages where Eli’s crown might just be about to slip! Can Paul make a glorious comeback? It’s time to find out.

Ep 456: Don't Call It A Comeback

This is not the episode we were expecting to put out! This week SHOULD’VE been a Tat Hunt episode but a technical disaster made it impossible for us to release until the audio was rescued. With a bit of luck, next week we will have the walkabout adventure we were super happy with and sad we may have lost forever! Until then, Paul and Eli had to do something this week, so they dove back into the “recording studio” to somehow pull a new episode out of their arses! Was the effort worth it? You’ll have to be the judge of that as Paul grabs some games from his bulging sack to see if there are any that can fill ONE HOUR of real time, red hot spicy CheapShow action!

Ep 457: This Was Not The Plan

After the success of last week’s Tat Hunt in Teddington, South London, Paul and Eli are now in search of a place to sit down and review the stuff they’ve purchased! The Cheap Chaps had a budget of £10 to find as much treasure amongst the Charity Shop Trash as possible and now it’s time to evaluate their discoveries. There is one HUGE problem, however. They have no idea where to go to sit down and pour through their items. What begins with a simple plan very quickly devolves into fighting, confusion, impromptu bus journey’s, altercations with security folk, a desperate search for a toilet, and the possibility that they may not have an ending to the episode! Follow Paul and Eli on another, far more aimless than usual, walkabout romp!

Ep 459: Tat Hunt Destination Unknown (Mono)

CheapShow is a comedy podcast all about getting the very best out of the worst! Be it Poundlands, Charity Shops, Car Boot Sales or Bargain Bins, hosts Paul Gannon & Eli Silverman poke around in the corners of the high streets and internet to find treasure in the trash.
