From the prevalence of the menstrual mutual aid box movement in Chinese universities to the permission to sale sanitary pads on high-speed trains, the issue of menstrual stigma has ignited significant discourse within Chinese society. There is an urgent quest for strategies to dismantle the taboos surrounding menstruation. However, before delving into the transformation of the societal perception of menstrual shame, it is crucial to comprehend why China's esteemed nine-year compulsory education system has yet to foster a healthy understanding of menstruation effectively. In this episode, we will converse with three Chinese women, each hailing from diverse backgrounds and having grown up in different eras. Through these discussions, we aim to grasp the trajectory of menstrual education in Chinese schools over the last few decades and strive to uncover potential remedies for the challenges surrounding menstrual education.
