In a city of whispers where lamplight decays,
A black-and-white cat walked the labyrinth ways.
Her paws wrote their prayers in the dust of the street,
Her shadow a psalm at the heels of her feet.

She sought not the sparrow, nor fishbone, nor flame,
But a silence that trembled whenever she came.
Through doorways of incense, through echoes of song,
She wandered, half-lost, yet was certain she belonged.

One night by a chapel, a candle still burned,
And something eternal within her returned.
