It's not officially Fall until Chillhop Music releases Essentials Fall.

Providing a fresh new soundtrack for the chilled months ahead, Essentials Fall is a 28 song 2xLP project. Featuring plenty of familiar names like Aso, Blue Wednesday, Ian Ewing, Philanthrope, SwuM, Chris Mazuera, Birocratic, Psalm Trees, Leavv, Nokiaa, as well as new trio Enough Cereals (check out their debut project with Chilhop, if you haven't already). This release confirms a new season is upon us, so spin this one well into winter, as well as the many autumns to come. 

Whether you're taking a stroll through nature or reading by the fire. Whether you're enjoying some coffee or baking a pie. Whether you're meditating or picnicking or studying or stargazing. Whatever it is that highlights your life, we hope you enjoy Chillhop Music's newest compilation as a backdrop. One to blast as you put on your hoodie and cozy up for the season. 

For those keeping count, this is our 35th (!!!) Essentials release. Maybe we'll do something special when we hit 40. We started this special compilation series back in 2016 with a release for every season of the year. Providing a fresh spin on the artwork every time, each calendar year presents a cohesive world-building storytelling mode and narrative arc. For 2024, our Raccoon returned to the countryside where they grew up and has spent the year catching up with family, reconnecting with old friends, taking plenty of naps, and reflecting on childhood. A time that was so long ago yet feels just like yesterday. As a result, Essentials Fall 2024 is nostalgic and steadily reminiscing on the past while also enjoying the present and all of the exciting things to come in the future.

From Scratch is the new ten song album between Psalm Trees and ALEXANDER. This half-hour listening experience samples and reworks the duo's new jazz album, Spirit of Naima. Treating the live instrumentation as a playground for sample flipping, the two have crafted both a jazz album and a jazzhop album. Showing us how it's done, starting from scratch, one step at a time, from beginning to end. This immersive instrumental hip-hop album is perfect for cooking a meal, pouring some coffee, going on a long walk, embarking on a road trip, or simply kicking your feet up and letting the chill jazz vibes take over, one drum kick at a time.

In My Room is an immersive listening experience from start to finish. lloom's four song EP is calming and soothing intimate lofi made for hifi enthusiasts. Strong headphones and powerful speakers. Atmospheric and organic and encapsulating, this is a short and sweet eleven minute offering to soundtrack the quiet and mundane moments of life. Watering your plants, studying for an exam, pouring a cup of coffee. Perfect for those who can relate to 'work from home' or simply need something as an ASMR-esque backdrop for their next gaming session or deep clean of the kitchen. It's the hushed moments in life that could always use these types of calming sounds and tranquil vibes. 

Without further ado: a bedtime story from us to you.

On a day like any other, in a cozy little room, there was you. You, in a nestled nook inside your home, listening to faint yet relaxing instrumentals drifting through the air. At first the songs sounded like nature, as if a breeze had pushed open your window, but upon further listening, you found yourself immersed in newfound calming sounds. Surrounded by blooming plants and scattered books, in this nook, you listened closer and fell in love. You pressed repeat to the music you were hearing and settled in for a night of chill. As the atmospheric lofi beats wrapped around your body and filled your soul, begging to be listened to on your best set of speakers or your finest pair of headphones, each note painted a serene scene: water falling on leaves, the quiet pour from a new batch of coffee, and the soft rustle of turning pages in your favorite book. Like all good music, upon pressing play, time quickly melted away. Because of this, you drifted into a world where mundane moments sparkled with magic. Encapsulated in this tranquil space, your heartbeat synced with the music and you were taken away. Peacefulness took over as you closed your eyes and readied yourself for sleep.
