Tim ‘Nev’ Prezzano was born in June, 1969. A lifelong resident of New York, he studied Photography, Philosophy and American Art, before turning his attention to early computer language and music theory, and how it related to Human Psychology.

Nev was relatively unknown until a string of mysterious releases appeared on the UK based GPR, specialising in Techno and Electronic music from the early 90’s. They were 6 track mini-LPs; musical odysseys that had shades of early IDM, techno, electro and house. Nev’s musical philosophy was to extract the soul from the machines he worked with - he didn’t believe in artificial intelligence, but ‘software touched with life’. As quoted from a review on Discogs for one of Nev’s releases, ‘no amount of digital trickery can replace an artist with some synths, a sampler and a few good ideas’.

For Nev’s ‘Deep Beep’ EP, this observation is particularly accurate. Originally released in 1991 on the New York based label Metamerism, it came at a time when artists were experimenting with instruments and machines, blurring the lines between genre or style to get to the soul beneath their fingertips. The Frankenstein-esque nature of this sound can be heard across this sprawling 3 tracker, and the EP has garnered cult status online, with the few copies available reaching up to £100.

Sadly, Tim is no longer with us, following his passing in June 2018 from Type 1 diabetes. For this release, we are donating the proceeds from sales to the JDRF, a charity researching and preventing the effects of Type 1 diabetes. We are grateful to give you this opportunity to enter the mysterious world of Tim ‘Nev’ Prezanno, all in good time.

Coralie Monnier, better known as Cora M, has been immersed in music since her early childhood, learning to mix when she was 17 and influenced by the German minimal and Romanian scene to develop as a sharp selector.

She has vast experience in turntables around Europe, leaving her mark at the afters of Montpellier and Barcelona. Now installed between Switzerland and France, she continues to pursue her passion of playing music.

Berlin welcomed them on a cool autumn evening. The narrow streets of Prenzlauer Berg flooded with the warm light of vintage lanterns, led Needle and Plate to a familiar place on Stargarder Street — the Lucky Six Tattoo. Inside was a spirit of creative chaos: posters of various festivals hung on the walls, and a slight smell of paint and coffee lingered in the air.

— Needle! Long time no see! — Daniel exclaimed with a wide smile, hugging her. — How are you?
— I'm fine, — she grinned. — This is Plate, my bro and music partner.
— Nice to meet you, Plate! — Daniel shook his hand.
— Nice to meet you, too. Glad we're finally here. Needle couldn't miss the opportunity to stop by and visit you, — said Plate.
— Yeah, I've been waiting for this moment, — Needle added and lifted her sleeve showing a tattoo: a vinyl record on her shoulder that had become her musical symbol over the years. — I think it's time to freshen it up.
— Of course, I remember that drawing! We did it when you started getting into electronic music and collecting vinyl. Such good times! Well, we'll add a few details to make it look sharper, — Daniel nodded, grinning slightly.

As he got ready for work, they chatted casually. Plate talked about the upcoming party at the bar, whereas Needle shared how she had longed to return to this city, which had always remained her idea of home and associated with the indomitable spirit of freedom.

Swedish imprint Seaweed Records launch their new sub-label, Seaweed Rhythms with a warm, minimal house single from zlene & Mathias Hinds which includes remixes from Rowlanz and Per Hammar. zlene aka Bäcksvart combines with the artist, friend and Stockholm local Mathias Hinds to inaugurate the new sub-label with their ‘Djup Trolling’ single which is about exploring the unknown with consistency and precision. Seaweed is inspired by Sweden’s nature and marine life as the label’s studio is located right by the Baltic shore, as they show their appreciation for the ocean with organic samples and recordings from both above and below the waters which have become a continual feature and theme within their work.

Chippy Chasers is an illustrated electronic label and record store from The Hague, promoting a wide range of house sounds. Founded in 2023, the project blends music, storytelling, and visual identity into one continuous experience.

The stories unfold in the present — through the lives of Needle and Plate, two friends who simply can’t imagine life without music. Female selectivity and male determination take them across Europe’s nightclubs, record shops, and creative spaces — all in search of that perfect moment the dance genre has to offer.
