The bar counter of one of the local pubs comes to life every time the darkness falls. It has happened at this themed party dedicated to the love of nature as well. Among the guests, Plate stands out by deftly drinking alcoholic shots. Looking around, he recognized painfully familiar faces in the distance.

– That’s impossible!
– Who did you see there?
– Never mind, Needle, it must be a mistake. I just need to read less comic books before bed.

The vibe of the analogue set is inviting to merge with the pulse of the crowd. In a warm circle of like-minded people, it can’t be otherwise: the intersection of genres kindles a passion for discoveries, and the mutual support makes these discoveries priceless. To know their charm, you have to spend more than one night sharing a bed with music.

For our first episode of 2024, we invited Antoine alias Dawn Gab to share some music with us.

  Dawn Gab is a producer, DJ and music maven based in Brussels. Born in France in the 90s, it is through travels and in the bins of record stores that he forged a sharp musical identity.

Passionate about dub, techno and micro-house, he offers progressive and hypnotizing sets. Not inspired by trends, he prefers to merge genres, which reflects in his own productions, the most recent ones being signed on MixCult Records, Indeep or Conceptual.

In 2019, after a few years of clubbing, he co-founds the collective and label Perception 知覺 with Lim Tzo. He then became actively involved on the Brussels scene and distinguished himself alongside artists such as Janeret, Diego Krause, Mike Sharon and Paolo Rocco.

Sunday traditions fuel the excitement of the new week and cool down the intensity of the passing week. There’s room for foolishness in the company of two music lovers who constantly anticipate new discoveries. After all, it’s spontaneity that makes any friendship thrive. A fictional fighter jet flies in the middle of the shopping mall, performing aerobatics maneuvers and aerial refueling. As fuel, any standard ingredients for home cooked meals will do. Turning a grocery shopping trip into an actual quest is the perfect way to distract yourself from pressing matters. We all know that even record digging can be tedious – luckily, it won’t be for long!

– Is it true that music is worse on an empty stomach?
– I don't know, Plate! It's ridiculous how you have such an appetite.
– Why don't we have a barbecue when we get back and listen to the new Chippy Chaser's Various Artists?
– I’m up to it!

Well, guess what... you're in luck as Andrew Armstrong's new collaboration as Daddy Squad with celebrated French chanteuse Corine is almost as sun kissed and as disco as you could want. Almost, that is. Whilst the original positively pulsates with an ecstatic joie de vivre, there was still room there to give it a little bit more of a sunset backdropped roof party vibe. Enter Athenian producer and long-time Eskimo affiliate NTEIBINT, someone who knows more than a thing or two about creating cool music for hot nights.

In George's expert hands Galaxie melts like an ice cream on a hot day, Corine's vocals now drifting into soft focus over the kind of melodic bass line, dreamy melodies and organic beats that shimmer like the last rays of the sun on the Aegean. Airy and spacious he's even left just enough space in the mix for you to provide your own accompaniment, clinking frosted cocktails glasses together as you gently sway to the disco beat.

Female selectivity and male determination take them across Europe’s nightclubs, record shops, and creative spaces — all in search of that perfect moment the dance genre has to offer.
