Meeting the sunset on the way home so as to get a rare press is priceless! The pedometer merely indicated a long-awaited rest. Having settled down near their favourite coffee table, the friends lay down and thoughtfully stared at the ceiling. The cartridge gently skidded on the shiny black surface. The grooves rotated a carousel of bass and percussion, transmitting a heartfelt rhythm to everything around. Bright envelopes scattered all over the living room were the keepers of the real mystery.

– What do you feel now, Plate? 
– It feels like this EP has many shades. They're imprinted everywhere, do you get it?

As soon as the shelves are replenished with fresh copies, the life of a wax digger turns into a holiday.

Verdant Session October 2025 for Electronic Convergence

For October I was thrilled to host some wonderful pals and leading living legends from the thriving dub techno community.   Bjarnar Jonsson [Ohm] has a long and respected history with the genre and now channels his developed taste into his Ohm Series vinyl and digital labels.    He's often collaborating with guest number 2... Johnny Fredsgaard [Kvadrant] whose Kontakt project is now approaching 50 releases with many of those featuring Ohm & Kvadrant productions.    In recent times Kontakt has hosted a who’s who of the Dub Techno landscape … Mike Schommer, Rod Modell,  Shed,  Steve O'Sullivan, cv313,  Octal Industries,  Resoe but also some brilliant and inventive remix projects from Bjorn Torske,  Lawrence and Joey Anderson to name a few.  Last but not least, Alex Lenta completed our quartet. He also produces music and designs artwork for the Ohm Series label.

For this set together we naturally locked into some delicious dub techno beats playing recent releases, previewed forthcoming releases on Ohm Series,  Kontakt and works in progress by Lentza and Ulf & Ralf.   Saying that, its not all dub t and we dropped some other refined flavours into our selections  

In essence, its all unplanned and just the 4 of us enjoying a long mix together…dive in!

On this episode of Intent Interviews, I had the pleasure of speaking with Tommy Harrison (a.k.a. Asphalt Layer) and Wilson Logan. Together, they are Quadrant Soundscape.  

Quadrant Soundscape is a collaboration of two people with a profound love for the art of DJing, digging, selecting, and sharing music with the community. Together, Tommy and Wilson have built the premier mix series in the genre with their Dub Explorations mixes. Last year, they launched The Frontier, which features the biggest name in dub techno.  They also have a series called the Quadrasphere, which is an outlet for dub techno DJs to play other styles of music that inspire them.

Throughout the conversation, we discussed the journey they’ve been on to get to this point. We also discussed how they approach sets and mixes, and their love of finding and sharing new music.

In this new episode, we welcome Shōga — the mind behind the house series SKLAD and the architect of that warm, spacious sound that gathers people on the dancefloor without needing any explanation.

He recorded this vinyl-only mix especially for Slowdance — a manifesto of his approach to dance music. Bright, dimensional, subtly winding in a way that carries you farther than you expect. A blend of euphoria, calm, and that feeling of endless motion — when the night has already happened, but something inside keeps going.

In 1988, Gertrude Belle Elion was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, together with George Herbert Hitchings and Sir James Whyte Black, for “discoveries of important new principles of drug treatment”.  She was the fifth female Nobel laureate in Medicine and the ninth in science in general and one of only a handful of laureates without a doctoral degree.

Benny S send my this mix some time ago ,, and i could not find time to make my usual set before 
his , so this time its just Benny S.
Excellent set ,, really have enjoyed listening to it a few times and i thought its time to put it out.
I’d like to introduce Benny S from London. His usual sound leans toward chord-driven deep house, but for this session he wanted to take a step into the world of dub. This mix is a deep dive into submerged chords, rolling rhythms, and the spacious atmosphere that defines the dub-techno realm.

Chippy Chasers is an illustrated electronic label and record store from The Hague, promoting a wide range of house sounds. Founded in 2023, the project blends music, storytelling, and visual identity into one continuous experience.

The stories unfold in the present — through the lives of Needle and Plate, two friends who simply can’t imagine life without music. Female selectivity and male determination take them across Europe’s nightclubs, record shops, and creative spaces — all in search of that perfect moment the dance genre has to offer.
