I'm a lifelong musician who plays a few instruments and occasionally sings a little. I believe music is one of God's greatest gifts to us and I use it to express love, joy, longing and even pain. used fiction is the songwriting project of Tommy P., whose debut album Lore gathers the fragments of youth into a quiet, mythic narrative. Tender vocals and ambient textures carry stories of love, friendship, and loss, moments that shape a life and linger long after they pass.

Chord Fiction is an indie-folk project that stems from the mind and heart of David Salazar, a singer/songwriter in the SF bay area. 

The music he creates in his new act echoes the soft and understated melodies of artists the likes of Glen Hansard, Jack Johnson, or Damien Rice. Still, it also feels as forward-thinking as indie-folk heroes the likes of The Shins, Wilco, or Calexico.

Chord Fiction sets out to create a mellow, organic, and soothing set of sonic landscapes, with every song relying on David Salazar's earnest vocals and gentle acoustic/electric guitar lines.  

Chord Fiction's upcoming EP features the on-point and often understated roots-inspired lead guitar from David Tom, and the track "Life is a just a Sea" also features the exceptional vocal talent of Emma Varley.

Composer with a love for city pop (Yamashita Tatsuro), jrock/pop (Maaya Sakamoto/Shiina Ringo/Tokyo Jihen), indie pop/rock (Alvvays/Ichiko Aoba), Shibuya Kei (Serani Poji), and the sweeping and sentimental soundtracks of Ghibli, Final Fantasy and various anime done by Yoko Kanno. Classical music influences stem from Erik Satie, Frederic Chopin, Yoko Kanno, Ryuichi Sakamoto and others.
