Based on an idea I had about the decline of the rust belt in the 80's when thousands of hard-working Americans lost industries and their jobs. Capably re-written by Karen Staley into a great Other Brothers track. In fact it ended up being used by Oprah Winfrey in her 1987 live remote show from the gym of Bellaire High School in Bellaire OH during which she appealed to employers nationwide and helped find over 3000 hard working people a living-wage job elsewhere in America. God Bless Oprah Don, Roger, Jamie and the Nashville A-Team for supporting Ohio Valley’s working class.

Glen Campbell recorded this song, often touted as the best country ballad of all time in 1968 when I was a high school freshman. Little did I know that 20 years later Glen would become my publisher and that I would get to record with an All Star background choir in Nashville in 1990.  Now and then inspiration and magic strikes like lightening. This is my tribute to Glen, who among several other Nashville legends mentored me and influenced everything I have done since as a songwriter, producer, artist, and recording professional. The rest of us piled on to what was originally titled "Mountain Fog", but was recently re-named by Billy as "Back From the Brink", while driving back from a gig at The Brink lounge in Madison, Wisconsin. It is also metaphoric of his ongoing battle to overcome Focal Dystonia and continue to play music for as long as possible.
