Just that Phil Solem is a genius songwriter with gratitude to Andy Dee doing George Harrisson, , Amy Tobin all the strings and mellotron master Donnie LaMarca. My dear wife Beverly Rae Roath passed away 3 years ago. When she got angry with me she would take the Amtrak Empire Builder to her parents in Montana, and tell me to pack my shit and get out. But 10 days later she always came back. The one time though? I called Phil Solem and this very Beatlesque song came out of a marathon 26 hour writing session where I learned why Phil is such a Virtuoso songwriter, musician and co-producer.

This track is a Tribute to one of my major musical influences and friends over many years, Dan Seals.  Dan passed of a rare lymphatic cancer in 2009. This gorgeous and deep Todd Rundgren song was the biggest hit of his career as England Dan (Seals) & John Ford Coley in 1979. The Resisters on this cut are: Drums: (From Hall & Oates and Daryl's House)- Brian Dunne.  Bass, Electric Guitars, Keys, Percussion, Duet & Harmony Vocals; Zannman.   Acoustic Guitars: Steve Gibson & Mark Casstevens.    Lead & Background Vocals: Dan Seals (Posthumously & Licensed), with Dan Timinski, Allison Krause et. al, & Zannman.

This tribute version will be featured on my upcoming release "Cover This?",  much of which was recorded while I was writing my forthcoming book "Homeless in Minneapolis." 

I consider that period of time as The War of(against)George Floyd- and the events following his death that made the world a better place. This track is dedicated as well to George whom I knew as the "door man"and bouncer  at a popular Latin dance club in NE Minneapolis where I went to enjoy a beer and watch the Salsa dancers.

Minneapolis Funk written by funky white boys Billy Franze and Zannman in Billy's back yard in North East Minneapolis in 1995 with the lyric, Billy's bass, and a six of Heineken. The first WareHouse Barbarians session ever took place that Summer at Wild Sound in The Ford Centre building by the new Target Field in the Warehouse District of Minneapolis. It  saw NPG members Michael Bland & The Hornheads team with Zannman on bass, Stevie Cherewan on B3, Lee Blaske on clav, and Dave Barry and Billy Franze on electric guitars.  Greg "G#" Sain sang lead. Cool Funk did some CRAZY ad libs as Tom Tucker Sr., Alex Oana, & I were mixing it at CD Underbelly in 1997. Zannman, Cool Funk, and G# clowned the background vocals... This is dedicated to our very beloved friend Tom Tucker Sr., who passed earlier this year. It, and his other work on The Warehouse Barbarians project, is probably among the last work of this amazingly talented, Grammy-award winning engineer and local music legend to ever be released.

Sometimes song accidents happen. This Hilarious song was actually written by Elijah the Non-Profit and Zannman while busking on the "homeless wall" in Dinkytown U of M campus neighborhood. That night Elijah had almost 100 Sorority girls singing it with him on the corner of 4th St SE. Then the 4th Jew was the legendary bassist Leland Sklar... so we had a great deal of fun doing this track. In  the tradition of Chocolate Rain,  50 Ways to Leave Your Lover, You Can Call Me Al and almost anything Weird Al does...enjoy, laugh & sing along...
