Born on a Kiwifruit orchard in Riwaka, Flex Webster lives and breathes music. DJ, Producer & Record Collector with a career spanning 25 years, music has taken him around the globe.

Flex attended the Red Bull Music Academy in Seattle (2005) and has won numerous DJ competitions over the years. Having a pretty broad musical scope these days his current obsession is with worldly Funk & Boogie sounds.

In 2023 Flex teamed up with Australian label That’s Not An Edit to curate the first New Zealand edition of their compilation series. His tasteful update of Letta Mbulu’s ‘Nomalizo’ one of the best performing tracks from the collection.

FUNKIN’ DONUTS celebrates everything funky on the 7” format. A Jam Session first and foremost, Flex has recently put out a series of edit packs under the brand with an ultimate goal of releasing 45s.

Flex is also one half of Shared Soul and has a new alias Mr. Bump which is an outlet for his Bass / Rave leaning material.

Collector of records, DJ/Producer, Lover of 70s, 80s, 90s sounds and beyond...

DJ since 1992. Originally from SoCal (LA & OC area) and got my start in the underground House Music scene. Produced events and played many warehouse parties as well as nightclubs till around 2000. Became part of the team for Spundae Worldwide. Resident DJ at their LA club and was able to play a slew of events and tours over the next few years, including during the merger with British Superclub brand Godskitchen. Handled all aspects of marketing, production, talent buying and artist relations through this time. Support sets for many major acts. Lived in Tulum & Playa Del Carmen (Mexico) in 2006/07 and handled events as resident DJ and event producer in those markets, as well as Cancun, Merida & Vera Cruz. Moved to Vegas in 2008 to open Wet Republic and played various venues for AMG (later becoming Hakassan Group). Created Nightlife Guru with biz partner Peter Beckers (of Spundae) and had accounts throughout city and various residences at virtually every club and party pool in town. Currently located in Las Vegas, NV.
