House Mix - September 22

Dan March vous présente son mix pour le mois de Novembre 2022. Street Mix II (Reworked) un mix que j’ai retravaillé et entièrement refait. Son ancêtre est daté du 01 Octobre 2017, voici sa nouvelle version en mieux. Des titres Garage House de 1996 qui ont fait leur preuves durant cette année. Désolé les tracks N° 8 et 9 disposent d’un son de qualité pas très bon. J’ai fait au mieux, il se peut que ce soit l’enregistrement directe sur le vinyle à l’époque … Ils étaient encore emballé et fermé sous cellophane. :)

To see off 2022 in style we have a huge mix here from the brilliant record label Miles Away. Miles Away Records is an independent record label based in London. Founded in 2019 the label’s aim is to celebrate sounds of soul from around the world, they specialise in releasing music from the past at the highest possible quality.

At the helm is Dom Ore, DJ, label founder, music nerd. Over the last seven years Dom has been fast establishing himself a one of London’s finest DJs and label owners. Beginning his career as a label manager at Acid Jazz, Dom cut his teeth working with artists like Leroy Hutson, The Brand New Heavies and Matt Berry - all contributed to Dom’s comprehensive knowledge of music from cross the spectrums of soul, jazz, disco and beyond. 

Between hosting a fortnightly radio show on Soho Radio and contributing DJ mixes for the likes of Huey Morgan and Craig Charles on BBC 6 Music, Dom can be found DJing across London and the UK with shows at Glastonbury festival, The Pickle Factory, Spiritland, Brilliant Corners, The Crofters Rights (Bristol), Corsica Studios, Bussey Building and Brixton Jamm. 

Only 5 years after joining Acid Jazz, Dom founded Miles Away Records. The label’s mission was to reissue soulful music from all over the world on vinyl. The label has gone from strength to strength, with releases: Patience by Rokk; It’s Time For A Change by Lamont Butler and Dancing Close by Rita Joyce (receiving critical acclaim from Gilles Peterson and Colleen ‘Cosmo’ Murphy). Miles Away has established itself as one of this generation’s most exciting reissue labels. 

Alongside his own label, Dom now works in partnership with legendary labels such as Brunswick Records, Easy Street Records, P&P, Warlock Records and Sleeping Bag Records, enabling their legendary artists and tracks to reach new generations and audiences.

Positive Vibrations with Justin Rushmore - 23.03.2023

Returning this week with a big stack of jazz and more I picked up last month in NYC, and also a couple selections in tribute to Harry Belafonte, probably one of the most incredible people to ever walk the earth. I recommend everyone go and pick up his autobiography just to see all the things he was involved in and accomplished. He lived an amazing life, and I start and finish this set with two tunes of his I love.
