Music is found in every known culture, past and present, varying widely between times and places. Since all people of the world, including the most isolated tribal groups, have a form of music, it may be concluded that music is likely to have been present in the ancestral population prior to the dispersal of humans around the world. Consequently music may have been in existence for at least 55,000 years and the first music may have been invented in Africa and then evolved to become a fundamental constituent of human life.

Clive’s music career started in 1994 with his involvement in his High School events in the East Rand township, Vosloorus. This was highly inspired by his collection of mix-tapes which included the greats like Ganyani, Tokzen and Bob Mabena’s drive time show that played on Radio Bop. His musical taste at the time covered a wide range of styles: Hip Hop (Krs One, Keith Murray, De la Soul…), Funk (Ashford and Simpsons, Kool and the Gang, Diana Ross…) and more specifically House music.This led him to a career in the South African Music Production and DJ Industries in which he has been a recognized player for over 20 years. 

In 1999 He Joined Suga Trax ( a vinyl and dj’s accessory store), which was renamed Soulcandi 
Records. Clive has for years conceptualized and Coordinated his own events. He has been 
commissioned by Levi®’s to compile a     series of South African Afro/Deep House music, for stores all over South Africa. As part of Soulcandi’s current  A&R team, Clive is a Compiler for International and National Dance Music Compilation Cd’s. Clive now also combines his career as a professional Dj with teaching. 

Clive is currently the Head Dj Lecturer at the Boston City Campus(Soulcandi Institute of Music), in Johannesburg. He has been, to date, employed by Soulcandi Music Group for the past 18 years.

 - 2017 - Present: Co Founder of Label Nites hosted Monthly at Shikisha Um'Zimba in 81 Corlett Drive, Sandton.

 - 2015 - 2017: Head Honcho for Reminisce Sunday, a forth nightly Sunday Deep Tech House concept hosted at Kitcheners (Braamfontein, Jozi - South Africa)

 - 2013: Compilation released Deeper Sounds Of Clive Bean through F! Records 
(Soulcandi's sister label)

- 2012 - Present: Founded City Soul Addicts, a Deep-Soulful House concept hosted in and around Johannesburg.

 - 2010: CD compilation “Soul Essentials” was released on SoulCandi sessions 5 and has sold Platinum.

 - 2009/10/11: ®Levi’s Live Mixtapes: quarterly compilations  (played at all Levi’s stores throughout South Africa)

 - 2008/2009: Compilation released with U.S based Kingstreet Records: Mix The Vibe Series “Mix The Vibe S.A” Double Cd Compilation with Teddy Douglas (Baltimore, USA) 

 -  2005/ 2006: Compilation released with UK based Defected In The House “Downtown Grooves” Cd Compilation
