La Mverte releases his new EP Ashram Temple, the second release of his label Les Enfers.
Since 2014, year of the release of his first EP Through The Circles on the label Her Majesty's Ship and his participation in the Red Bull Music Academy (RBMA) in Tokyo, alongside Palms Trax, Zebra Katz, Xosar or Alejandro Paz - with whom he will release the collaborative EP The Line in 2015 - La Mverte has not stopped pacing the path of the studio as that of the stage with regularity, until the sudden stop that imposed by the global health events that we all know only too well.
In 2019, he released the EP No Trespassers, at the confluence of musical universes that he particularly likes - between surf tinged with new beat, trippy dub, krautrock or synthwave - and with as always one foot in the concert hall and the other in the club.
This EP followed his debut album The Inner Out released between 2017 and 2018, which immortalized the synthetic aesthetic of his debut, as did the A Game Called Tarot EP released in 2015. He followed up with Alchemy Calls in 2021, once again pushing the doors of the club. The EP is thus composed of 3 original tracks - including a featuring of Jean-Christophe Couderc (Vox Low) - which navigate between Detroit’s electro, synthwave and new beat. It is also enriched with 2 remixes by Javi Redondo and Anatolian Weapons.
With Ashram Temple, La Mverte invites us to a trip that he’s never undertaken before. Leaving behind the formats and tempi to which he was known to be used to until then, it is a question here of leaving to the exploration of a still uncharted territory of his musical continent, much slower than usual, in an almost balearic spirit, imbued with
mystery and always plunged into darkness. Established as the starting point of a long term series relating his imaginary odysseys, this first opus offers to take us towards the northern jungles of India, investigating a secret cult practicing certain forgotten rituals within the walls of a forsaken temple.
The original track is offered no less than 3 remixes. Youkounkoun (Jeff Lasson and Gaëtan Rossi) delivers a very personal remix, almost dance-balearic - after some incursions by I’m a Cliché, Invisible Inc or Partyfine - playing around the central melody and the haunted choirs. Theus Mago, aka Mateo Gonzalez, known for his releases on Optimo Music, Lumière Noire or Duro, offers us a club-oriented version in an indiedance fashion. Finally, The Populists gives us his take on the track, from a disco-ish intro to more electroclash vibes, as it can be previously heard on his releases via Zone, Space Factory or XXX.
With Ashram Temple, La Mverte sends the postcard of a personal voyage, surveying both fantasized lands and more or less marked out inner paths.

Enjanzea2 (@enjanzea2), a duo formed by Javier Rascan and Ricardo Jain from Chihuahua Mexico lands on the 4th edition of our Innisfallen Series (@innisfallenrecords). The project's proposal travels between acid and spatial monophonic sounds, inspired by techno, house and electro. This great piece wouldn't be here without Ruary's (@ruaryvargas) hand which gathered all of these electronic elements together in "Pazuzu."

The EP includes two interesting remixes, one by Javier Ferreira (@javierferreira), a multi-instrumentalist and music producer widely recognised for his energetic and rhythmic productions within his already distinguished sound range.

Cantor, a San Francisco-based musician and producer, contributes a production inspired by Detroit techno, punk, and new wave rhythms, which, combined with acid, string chaos, and broken cymbals, creates a unique piece that perfectly complements Vongold's already beloved vocals.

Dina Summer (@dinasummer), the international trip of Berlin-based producer Kalipo and powerhouse DJ couple Local Suicide present ‘Rimini Remixes’, an ambitious remix 12-inch bursting with energy on Iptamenos Discos. The artists met at a rave in 2013 and have been pushing boundaries ever since with their unique blend of new wave, late 90’s electro, and elements of 80’s disco. This new release comes after a busy year for the ever-prolific trio, following the release of their globally acclaimed debut album ‘Rimini’, soon to be reissued on Audiolith.

The ‘Rimini Remixes’ EP is a groovy four-tracker featuring remixes by household names of the Italian scene, including three exclusive tracks. The first remix of ‘Mars’ sees cosmic icon Daniele Baldelli join forces with Marco Dionigi, the experimental trailblazer and head of Prismatikone Records’ Quantistic Division. The two long-time collaborators have been making waves together since the 90s with their convention-defying sound. Their remix brings out the dreamy undertones of the original, with a beautifully evocative melody threading through the track, as soft, spacey vocals float overhead.

The legendary electro pioneer and producer of the 80’s cult hit ‘Problèmes d’Amour’ Alexander Robotnick then brings a stripped-down, subtly retro remix of ‘Amore’, with metallic echoes and a smooth bassline that perfectly underscore the sensual lyrics.

The prolific selector, producer and owner of the Italian labels Slow Motion and New Era Fabrizio Mammarella follows, lending his trademark experimental touch to the ‘Rimini’ remix. He shows off his exceptional technical talent with this exclusive track, twisting it to bring out faded vocals and mechanical undertones that evoke the inner workings of a dysfunctional machine.

The final remix comes from the Berlin-based producer Italo Brutalo (@italobrutalo), known for his outstanding mixing skills and his spectacular live acts that led him to perform all over the world. He closes off with a minimalistic, tense version of ‘Wunderbar’, stripping the song down to its core elements before adding an eerie touch with distorted, robotic notes.

Refreshing and unpredictable, this release takes you along for a deep dive into a surprising variety of genres and influences that will take your breath away at every turn.

Phantasy Sound regulars Cowboy Rhythmbox return to the imprint this November with three esoteric cuts entitled ‘Terminal Madness’.

After solid releases throughout 2018 from Daniel Avery, Ghost Culture, James Welsh and Red Axes to name a few, Erol Alkan’s Phantasy Sound return with a triple pronged battle weapon from Cowboy Rhythmbox that takes in inspiration from a wealth of disparate elements; the brutal drum machine swagger of early Chicago house, the murky world of 1980's video arcades, the bleeps of Sheffield, arcane home computing documentaries recorded to VHS, public access TV.

‘Terminal Madness’ is a quirky track about the paranoia surrounding artificial intelligence, inspired by early Dance Mania releases and broken pocket calculators amongst other things. ‘Hands Inside The Car’ then deploys a wonderful eccentric atmosphere through a deadpan vocal hook that wraps itself around a killer combination of sub bass, freestyle beats and deranged reversed elements.

‘Vodonik’ finishes with a stark, glacial rave beast, very much a reaction against Cowboy Rhythmbox's usual maximal approach. This is stripped-down-to-the-bone body music that will work in the most cavernous of rave palaces or the most intimate seedy basement club.
