Normal service has resumed, Rich Vacated brings back his featured album and label focus this week after his two show review of 2013. First album up in 2014 is Hans Bouffmyhre's Where I Belong, which is full of big room techno cuts but manages to steer away from the generic club sound. Also this week Rich shines the light on Bas Mooy and Jeroen Liebregts' Audio Assault, a label that has been going for over ten years and continues to push pounding techno from a great roster of artists.

Welcome to the 35th release of Cicuta Netlabel. This EP opens our 2015 season, a year full of hopes and good intentions. There are some that are recurrent, such as exercising more or quitting smoking. It’s said that Christmas usually are not met. We have proposed something that can actually get, with your help of course, and is to be another year with you, offering free music quality and revealing new artists.

This time we present Altechmist, emerging Catalan artist who has captivated us with his sound. Although not have much experience to show in his resume, he is one of the artists that are being forged in the school of music production EUMES, one of the best structured projects (in our opinion) in Spain, leading by people as Mootiv, OneD or Dosem, all of them friends of Cicuta.

DJ Shiva (Slap Jaxx/Subterror/Gynoid/Chroma)...
Shiva started spinning records 17 years ago because spinning dinner plates on sticks for the circus required too much coordination.

Occasionally she makes her own techno tunes and they end up on labels like Chroma, Slap Jaxx and Gynoid Audio, but more often she watches Netflix with her cat.

She would endeavor for musical stardom, but figuring obscurity more likely, she stopped caring about writing bios that sounded snooty and professional and just decided to remind people that the key to being a good DJ is always wearing pants.

Dark Frequency Podcast presents DJ Shiva

Cicuta Netlabel is a project focused on bringing quality techno music throughout the world, for free, without prejudice. Our differentiator is that we want to have well-known artists, those that are not typically seen in the netaudio scene, and combining its proven quality with talent and drive of those artists who are growing and only need the world to discover their work to seduce.

Our intention is to publish a monthly EP. These EPs will always be licensed under Creative Commons, and will can be downloaded for free from archive.org.

To complement the aforementioned, we also want to have the best mixers of the techno scene, providing a monthly podcast to all our supporters.

What kind of music can you expect on our releases/podcast? The response is TECHNO, in upper case, and with several shades: dark, hard, industryal, melodic,…. We don’t want to lock ourselves in a unique style. If its techno, and we like it, we will publish it.
