Having grown in popularity throughout the past few years, Silent Motion have become the go-to record label for consistently fresh material from both up-comers and veterans alike. "Starting 2020 off with a bang we welcome back a familiar face with his 5th appearance on the label, making longtime friend Imanzi the most featured artist on Simply Deep. SD022 also sees the addition of Kontent & Pharma to the label, both established artists in their own right.

The title track 'Fidget Dub' by Imanzi & Kontent has been a staple in Simply Deep sets for the latter half of 2019, finding a home in 100% of our radio shows and mixes. With heavy Grime & Dubstep influences this track would find a home in most 140 sets!

The second track 'Only Hope' is a solo track from the 140 wizard Imanzi. Using more of a sub-low approach and rolling percussion on this one, Imanzi still provides enough dynamism to shake your ribcage through any Sound System.

Austria based artist Pharma steps up with a massive remix of 'Fidget Dub'. He takes more of a melodic route with his remix, rearranging the percussion & bass stems whilst adding his own flute patterns for a moodier take on the original.

EA Review: Cid Poitier N.O.T.E.S Ft. Dubwoofa , JFO & Wends [SUBCLEF005]

Cid Poitier’s “Distraction” - released almost exactly two years ago on Sub:Clef - is unique to begin with, structured around Wends’ lyrics as in typical “band” music. JFO translates her piercing poetry into the DJ format without sacrificing the impact of the vocals. His rendition takes Cid Poitier’s minimal, jazz-flavored production to another level, adding texture and fullness to the poignant track.

Stepping up to the plate for our next release is Nizth with The Perazine EP. 

After blessing us with a killer free download in "My Style" and then providing one of the standout tracks on our Volume 1 compilation with "Last Blood" we felt it was only right that he should get a full solo release with "The Perazine EP". Here the Russian producer treats us to 4 hard-hitting system rattlers that will get your subwoofer working overtime. This is not one to be slept on if you like it moody.

This EP's title track combines dark and eerie melodies with razor sharp drums and a deep, churning bass to create something that really wouldn't sound out-of-place in a horror movie, though personally we think it would be better suited to a dark and sweaty dancefloor. If you're familiar with Nizth's previous outings on DPR then this simple formula of deep bass, sharp drums and a spooky melody should be something that you're used to hearing from him, but with this track it feels like he's refined and perfected the formula and the results are spellbinding.

DJ'ing since 1997, Cid Poitier was Influenced by 90's Jamaican dancehall, but when Jungle broke onto the scene he found a new outlet for his musical passion. Since then he has taken the progressive journey into Drum and Bass, Early Dubstep and more recently Deep Minimal Experimental sounds which encompass his countless influences from the 90's and beyond. Cid Poitier's music is heavily inspired by these genres and the rich cultural melting pot that is South London.
