The SBS Cycling Podcast is a bi-weekly cycling podcast. A sometimes irreverent and punchy look at the world of professional cycling with some serious bits profiling the big races and riders thrown in.

I work as a writer and editor for the Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR), International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT) and as communications coordinator for the Food, Land Use and Restoration program (FOLUR). I was formerly the communities editor for the  Thomson Reuters Foundation AlertNet and TrustLaw news websites. In this London-based role, I reported, wrote, edited, blogged, made videos, took pictures and planned online editorial content. My move to the foundation came in August 2010, after two years with the Reuters UK website in London where I blogged, made videos, recruited guest commentaries, coordinated real-time web coverage of budgets, Bank of England events, the 2010 UK general election and International Women's Day. Before joining Reuters Toronto in 2005 as an online editor, I worked at various news publications in Canada. I earned an Honours Bachelor of Arts in cinema studies from Innis College in the University of Toronto, and a Bachelor of Journalism from Toronto Metropolitan University. The Center for International Forestry Research is a nonprofit, global facility dedicated to advancing human wellbeing, environmental conservation and equity. We conduct research that enables more informed and equitable decision making about the use and management of forests in less-developed countries.

Our research and expert analysis help policy makers and practitioners shape effective policy, improve the management of tropical forests and address the needs and perspectives of people who depend on forests for their livelihoods.

Our multidisciplinary approach considers the underlying drivers of deforestation and degradation which often lie outside the forestry sector: forces such as agriculture, infrastructure development, trade and investment policies and law enforcement.
